I would recommend against Velodyne. Their customer service is the worst I have encountered. Nasty experience. HSU subs are Awesome bang for buck subs. They are sold direct and cut out the middleman (and his take of the profit). I have the 10" and it rocks. BTW, the Dayton is NOT an HSU, but is HSU designed. edit: I own the VTF-2 and love it. Wish I had got the VTF-3, but i can upgrade after i grad from college. |

wow this is a great price...like KCSunshine, I paid signifcantly more for this back in 2002. If you have a small to mid-sized room for HT this is an excellent choice. Green! |

Cyfun said:Hmm, no receiver, and I've never heard of the brand. Unless you can provide some reviews, this is prolly gonna see red. Brand is awesome. I use their C-500 package and love it. These speaks aren't quite up to par with the Energy system I have but for $150 these will blow away 99% of the other sub-$200 systems. |

Thanks, ordered a set to pair up with my KSW-10" Klipsch sub. About time I get a matching surround set! |

| I have energy act 6 surround speakers and they sound great but recently my center channel (well they are all the same of all the 5 speakers) died and I searched for a replacement. I found these : Energy Speaker they are $33/piece I ordered one and got them quickly (3 days)and the sound is great. if you need 5, it'll cost $165, shipping is free and no tax for me in California. Includes wall bracket / glass base and there is a grill cover (picture shows it w/out cover). |

I agree, which is why I endorsed HSU, shared which model I own (as qualification), but didn't suggest one. I mainly wanted to inform the fine folk here about the horrid Velodyne customer service, and point out that the Dayton is not going to sound the same as an HSU since it's designed, but not manufactured by Dr. Hsu. |

I bought my set of Take speakers and center channel in 1997 and still have them. My right speaker blew out recently and I've been searching for a replacement, this is a great deal! Paired with my HK receiver and Infinity 10" sub, these sound better any of the small speakers in the best buy showroom. I looked at Polk, Klipsch, and Mirage and they don't sound as pure. |

I was recently making the decision between the Energy Take series and tSC set of speakers for my new sound system. Ultimately decided to go with the tSC set due to reviews and their 30 day risk free return policy, but from everything I read the Energy's were priced well below their quality. One of the best budget systems out there. Since it relates, 7% off the TSAT systems over at The Speaker Company with TSATJULY... |

How do these stack up compared to a set of Mirage Nanosats ? I realise the Nano's are more expensive, but I see these around, in bundles or 'B' stock for a little under $100 per speaker, and they get pretty good reviews. I've not yet listened to either the Energy or the Nano's, I'm considering both. I have a HSU sub already. I want to set up a "decent" HT in the bedroom. |

If anyone can offer advice, I have a current set of older Harmon Kardon HKTS 7's, would this be an upgrade? I could use my existing HK sub with this Energy set as I was looking to upgrade at a reasonable price. |

I'm getting $199 as the start price before coupon, meaning $170 + tax... what am I doing wrong? |

Deal appears over...$20 more than the original post. CA tax would make it $184 for me. Are these the same model that came out in the 90's? Has anything changed with them? |
