Gah, I just pulled the trigger on the Seagate double pack an hour ago. (Curse you FW and your incessant deal finding!)
Then again, they're going in an NAS, but I won't start that discussion. Still, had I known the 2TBs were on their way down, I might've been tempted to put it off a bit longer... Anyway, thanks for the heads up OP, maybe I'll cancel yet...
are these the drives that saves energy by constantly parking the drive head, thus when you want to read a file it needs to move the drive head from the parking slot to the disc mirrors? If it is, it becomes very slow, makes wierd noises when it parks and unparks, and also increases your drive useage counts

green for you, OP. that's a great price. i have 3 of the 1TBs in my HP mediasmart and they work flawlessly.

The WD Black drives are much faster then the Green ones. As they say, once you go black, you never go back.

This is really tempting.... I might snap up one but two things are holding me back.... 1) Imagine losing a 2TB drive worth of data.... ARGH! and 2) With the 1TB X 2 option being cheaper when on a deal, if you have the extra drive bays that's not a bad option.
Grr... I almost bought the 2 pack 1.5 gig deal through Dell too. My HTPC is screaming feed me feed me!
Got it after trying to use the code with three different web browsers. The first two would not take it. Also used Bank of America's add it up for 6% CashBack. The best deal for this drive at the moment.

Yeah I had problems with checkout going through, but finally got it. Was going to jump on the 2 1.5TBs, but reputation of them scared me off.

No way would I chance losing 2 terabytes of data using a cheap drive. Even Western Digital admits that these drives are not suitable for a RAID array. Their best drives are the "RE" models which cost more, but which are much faster and made to run 24/7 without a hiccup. I will spend the extra money for the security and 5 year warranty.
yep.. was receive by 07/14 now 07/21... someday i'll learn to never buy from Dell. just a waste of time.

Same, got a call saying it'll be delayed even though it's already shipped and I have a tracking number. How the heck is UPS going to take 14 days on a truck to get this delivered to me?
Dell's on line order/delivery system appears to have a problem. I got a call today from Dell stating the order will be delayed until 07/21. I got a UPS package from Dell with the hard drive delivered today.
