Does anyone know if this will work if you do not live in one of those cities? My grandparents live about a 30 minutes away from one of the towns and thought about getting it for them but does anyone know if it will still receive a signal? Can you just tell it what city you want it to report? |

My experience has been that the weather reported is the weather at the transmitter rather than the city itself. |

So does your newer CX model has the feature to control the brightness? CC63 said:turls88 said:Yes, a bunch of mine had rebate forms taped. I haven't noticed that before, and seems to be unusual considering clearance varies store by store. Almost like they had a corporate directive to get these out the door for good or something.
At our local store I watched a middle aged woman walk up to the display at about 2 PM, put her purse down, and she proceeded to tape the small rebate forms to each package. She did not have a store shirt or name tag on. When she was done taping all 25 units she left. ???? Maybe she is the mystery woman or Good Fairy, that also goes around and puts a quarter into expired parking meters? BTW Harrisurrg, PA East store had 5 of the 95000C models and she missed tagging them, but a price scan confirmed they were $50.00. I bought 2 of the CX model as the Lit# on the back of the package was newer than the C model. CX model was 98-1177/07-08 and I believe the C model was several months "older". I figured that was a "clue".
Hey, it works! Took about 30 minutes to get the final signal fix and is telling me it is "partly sunny and nice" here. Friendly little box.

Picked up the 7-day, today. Felt the wind speed was worth the extra money. And just as posted before, they had the rebate coupon's already attached. Very odd, also in pen underlined, the dates, and "limit 3 per household". Double odd! Works well, mine is flaming red in city 131. They had about 8 5-day left, 2 7-days. TY OP. |

Oh forgot what I really wanted to post... I found some "hidden" features! 1) Hold the time-zone button, then press location UP. This will change the temp. from Fahrenheit to Celcius. 2) Hold the time-zone button (back) then press location DOWN. This will make it go into Debug Mode. You can see things like version, number of data packets etc... Now press the time-zone button again, and you can set if the backlight will by ON during AC (when plugged in), calibrate yellow and orange levels? Hold the time-zone button to exit debug mode. Enjoy! |

They don't work for the store, but rather for outside companies that have products in the stores, and they go around making sure they are stocked, properly arranged, move things around, put coupons up, etc. etc. It's a good job. Hopefully I can find these in the Philly stores. Will make for good gifts. |

I just picked up two in West Norriton, PA (an aisle over from the paint section - by the smoke detectors). They had both the C and CX models of the 5-day (I didn't see the 7-day). There were at least 10 on the shelf. The shelf said $75, but they rang up as $50. |

Got the 5-day one in Bensalem, PA for $50 this morning. I went to the Franklin Mills, PA store and they had one 5-day and one 7-day. They both scanned not on file. I took them to an associate on the floor and they scanned them with the handheld scanner. The 5-day came up $99 and the 7-day came up $129. I re-checked the store scanner and they came up with those prices, too. |

I just picked one up in the Hamilton, NJ Wal-Mart, they had 3 of the CX's at $50 each, but I couldn't find one for the life of me, so I asked an employee where they were and he might have picked up one, so there may be only one left. Thanks OP |

So does C. Anybody else want to guess on what the differences are? I need to go back and compare the green and blue ones. Not sure if one of those is the C and one the CX. I bought three because I have 3 places I can put them. You could also do a neat little East Coast/Central/West Coast thing if you are into that kind of thing (like having multiple clocks for different time zones). Just trying to set the record straight as I am holding both of the following in-hand now-and typing too! Some posters above mention model numbers and may be leaving out a zero here or there and this is causing some confusion. On the 5-day units: Green label = antenna, model # 95 000 5C, lit# 98-1177/03-08 & silver buttons --I guess we are calling this the "older" model? Blue label = no antenna, model # 95 000 5CX, lit# 98-1177/07-08 & black buttons --And these are being called the "newer" model. BTW, is "lit#" supposed to mean LOT #? |

Sternforpres said:Just talked to a Bushnell rep, she thinks that the website is incorrect and the rebate is for both 5 and 7 day. She could not bring up the rebate (of course, PC trouble) but she said that if the rebate does not specifically say that it must be different SKUs, then we could purchase three identical units and get the $150...however, she did say that she has NEVER seen anything more than ONE rebate per household.
Needless to say, going to call again in an hour.
--------------------------------------------------------
Just noticed this text on the Bushnell website...
Rebate good on 950005CX and 950005C models only.
http://www.bushnell.com/weather/
See bottom right hand side...might not be true, but there it is.
Also wondering if the limit three per household also applies to unique SKUs, meaning you cannot buy three of the same item and get the rebate? Regarding the limit three per household...the rebate form does not state anything about whether one needs to buy all three of the same model or not. In fact, it clearly states buy the 5 OR 7 day model and then the limit of three. You are correct in that the website states only two models/SKUs are included, however, the rebate form itself is what one should go by, IMO. And, that includes four model/SKUs clearly at the top right of the form.
Better make and keep copies and mail early-LOL! |

I wouldn't mind giving or receiving one of these as a gift, with or without the UPC. It's not like the UPC has anything to do with the unit's functionality. If that means that I don't have class, well, I can live with that. KuoH jonnashville said:allup said: How can that be gifts if you cut off the UPC? Because some people have no class. |

WalMart in Wilmington, NC had about 10 of them with an e-mail from corporate saying that the hardware manager should post the rebates on the items to move out inventory. Rebates were taped. |
