edit: It's not numerically ($/dose) but does Tide work better? Not an opinion, but a verified fact: Tide is best; Powder is superior to Liquid. Having said that, there are others that come close, and some Powders are better than Tide Liquid, though none better than Tide Powder. Normally, the selling price of all Premium Brands is about the same, so IMHO, it's not practical to even consider anything other than Tide. Even if one could get a better Per Wash price on the inferiors, and they did not (which they do) negatively affect the clothing they washed, the savings would be so miniscule so as not to be worthwhile trying to memorize the names of the 2nd or 3rd Best brands. Again, IMHO. |

scan one, they all go on... but most cashiers will at least make you show/give them one... sometimes they will scan the one there... or I will just drive around and ask/look for one in store/carts if I lose or forget mine... |

edit: It's not numerically ($/dose) but does Tide work better? Tide 2X ultra series are rated very highly by CR. |

"$100 off of samsung 40 inch lcd # 914040" A couple of days back, i purchased this TV and now it is $50 lower than what i had bought for. Can i take the receipt to Costco and request a price adjustment? I like the TV and want to save the hassle of returning it and re-buying it!!! |

Also, if you opted out of receiving anything from their advertisers when you signed up as a member, you won't get coupon books either. They can change that at customer service also. |

You could always do the old trick of buying another one and returning it with the old receipt if they don't do the price adjustment. |

jeffd said:A few months ago they started putting one UPC code in all the coupons, so that any coupon would automatically hit all couponed items. It was great, I noticed and asked the cashier, they were surprised I noticed. They no longer had to keep the whold book at the register, just one active coupon would suffice. I love it, and hope they don't go back! I just keep a coupon in my wallet, just in case. I share my membership with a friend in Austin and he got all the coupons as he is primary member. So now all I need is one active coupon. Thanks for the info dude. |

Here in California, since the beginning of the year, coupons have rung up automatically when the items were scanned. I think us Californians are just lazier |

This means that you must make the purchase during the promotional period for them to get reimbursed by the manufacturer. To make a long story short, you're probably gonna have to do some sorta return to get your lower price |

I find them to be really mean about coupons at my Costco. If you don't have a coupon they wont scan one. A few times this has happened to me. You go to the front desk and they say no. They act like you are trying to steal from them. I do like the same UPC on all coupons though makes it a lot easier. |

At my Costco all I have to do is scan one coupon and it gives the discount on everything I've purchased that has a coupon. I made a point of checking the last time I was there (and this is in self-checkout). It got me thinking though: lets say there is a coupon for $3 off their take/bake pizza and I use the pizza coupon to buy a pizza. A few days later I go back because I need something else and also have a coupon for that item. While I'm there, I decide that I want another pizza. When I check out will I get the pizza discount again when I scan the other non-pizza coupon, or will the system remember that I used that one already? I'll have to give it a try! Unfortunately, not much I need in this round of coupons. |

Regarding the Tide detergent: the "fact" mentioned above seems to be out of date. In their latest review (July 2009), CR ranked Tide powder 10th, whereas a variety of Tide liquids claimed the top 4 spots (the 2x Ultra with Color Clean Bleach Alternative has the #1 spot). This is for top-load washers. Tide didn't have a powder detergent on the front-load list. Personally, I run (and sweat like a pig) 5 days a week and use the Kirkland liquid detergent and have no complaints. |
