I am not tire expert, but have been buying tires from Costco for all of our family vehicles until recently. Costco only carries very few limited brands, and usually the discount is only on Michelins. When our Michelins worn out before 30K miles, we realized Michelin does not offer any type of thread warranty. So I started looking at alternatives and found several other brands that has better reviews, cheaper, plus they offer thread warranty. In fact I have just replaced the Michelins on our family van with some Yokohamas from TireRack, even after shipping and installation at local BigO tire store, It was still cheaper than Costco's after coupon price by over $100. So far I have noticed the Yokohamas have lower road noise, less squeeks, and smoother rides than Michelins. While the longivity remain to be seen, they do offer thread warranty against premature wears.

So unless you are set on Michelins for some specific reasons, look around and you will be pleasantly surprised.

My local booklet got $9 off for Huggies diapers and wipes. I don't like Huggies wipes. Can I buy both and return the wipes? Thanks.

You have to be careful with Michelins because SOME models do not have tread warranties. These are the performance models that have softer tread compound with better grip but lesser tread life. Michelin has, and Costco carries, models that offer 60K tread warranties. Costco also includes lifetime balancing and rotation, as well as a road hazard warranty. Did you factor those into your comparison?

The coupon is for buying BOTH, now can you be sneaky and return something to Costco? We all know what happened when people abused the electronics return policy...

I don't mean to abuse their policy. I like it better when they don't combine both items into one discount.

Of course not, most folks forget these little things. There's just about your $100 differential [if not more, I like to rotate & balance tires on a consistent 5,000 - 6,000 miles basis] right there.

Coupon wise the Costco employee who posted earlier is right -- all coupons have the same barcode and they have to only scan one coupon to activate all the discounts, but Costco management has made the cashiers collect coupons to 'match' the items. However, I think is just to appease the manufacturers and the cashiers I've seen don't even care what the coupons are, they scan any random one's barcode and stuff the other wherever (not even looking to see if they match what you are buying). So I think if you buy six things that get a discount and only give them one coupon they might ask for more, but if you give them four or five it won't matter

one coupon has been in affect for a few month now - and I don't think coupon from costco has the same rules as regular manufacturers coupons - I think, it works more like an instant discount - ! - makes life easier for everyone viva costco!

How is the verizon phone deal through costco compared to doing it online on the verizon website ? Any savings?

These kick in tomorrow, and for the first time in many years, I still don't have my coupons. Bah. All I need is *one*, after all!
