I saw this in store the other day and it has a molded spot on the side where one could be, but no actual hole with the HDMI port in it. I believe that the other model that is on sale this week does have one.

Buy it today and pricematch later over phone or at a different store/manager.

Same thing happened to me. That's sleazy IMO. The website tells you it's available in store but fails to mention it's ~$100 more. So you drive all the way to the store only to find it's much more expensive in the store.

Yeah i went to the store thinking ok i will get pricematch. But it has to be available online to get pricematch at the store.
I got one from Illinois. It marked $499 in store. But no problem with price match to website. It seems to be a price mistake on web. Very nice price and pretty good laptop. I am typing with it now. Grab one if you can.
Scored two in Sacramento, CA for $349.98 ($30.00 ER) = $319.98
NOTES: -T4200 is a Penryn based chip. It benchmarks very close to a T6400.

Very well done.
Actually, it is Staples' policy to price match the website, regardless inventory status there. However, some managers are unaware and . . sadly . . some don't want to be aware of this Staples' policy.
If anyone else runs into trouble on this, remember, the rules (store policy) are on your side. Ask to see a copy of store policy.
Denied for pricematch due to "corporate policy does not allow pricematch to out of stock items" Anyone know where I can find their "corporate policy" to check that statement?

Call the store, get someone to commit to matching on line price, get their name. Or just go to the store
With ad printout.... Show it to them and that it say's Check in Store Availability
Wala...you got it.
My store has 31 of them, lady was amazed so many. Me thinks odds are, it will be in next weeks ad at the current online price.
It is obvious to me, that the online says check store, so what if online is OOS.
This is a very decent machine...Any printers deals along with it.

Just got back from the store and wouldn't price match it. Said it had to be available online to get it in store... tried the part where it says check in store availability and they pretty much ran me out of the store with their rudeness. Call before you drive there. We are calling other stores to see if they will honor the price.... keep trying awesome price for the deal.
got mine with price match. only thing i don't like is that the screen is so shiny it reflects everything in the background and is hard to view.
there was a coupon in todays Staples ad in the sunday paper in southeast fl that gave me an additional $5 off $20 puchase and i was able to use it for this laptop.
from the reports given hear I decided to call first, and the mgr. guy knew the laptop already from "plenty of people" and had shot them all down. So if they'd honored the price they'd a been gone fer me anyhoo

It's a fine point in Staples' policy, really; almost understandable how some managers mess up:
In virtually any other situation they are forbidden to PM an OOS item. That's hard and fast Staples policy.
The exception is price matching Staples.com. A great many managers know the policy, including this exception. Some do not.
Provided the ignorant managers are enforcing policy their way consistently, and not making exceptions, then those stores likely will continue to have stock tomorrow. If you really want this laptop, and have no store choice:
Telephone Staples customer service tomorrow and get as high up as you are able. Then try to arrange a call from Staples corporate to the offending store manager to set him/her straight.
Alternatively, buy a laptop now at the higher price and (for God's sake) don't open it. Then telephone customer service tomorrow, explain you were overcharged, and ask how to obtain an adjustment . . . preferably an in-store adjustment, if you are close to the store, with them calling the store to smooth the way for you. If that effort fails, just return the (unopened) laptop for a full refund.
Good luck.

These guys suck... I called ahead and they said they have plenty in stock and will price match. But when I drove 15 miles all the way to the store, the manager denied saying he apologizes for the misinformation. Funny thing, he said he would loose his job if he does the price matching. I thought you are going to loose it when Staples goes out of business because of losing customers as a result of your inconsistent policies. I felt bad for him in a way as he was trying to come up with reasons to say, why he cant give it for that price...
Another story with a store assistant manager and a technician at another Staples store in Chicago(at pulaski & lawrence) trying to sell me a different open-box laptop for $669 (including a 3 year warranty) that was being sold at $649 (brand new) at Staples. The way they were trying to sell it was even worse than a used-car salesman. She says "I will help you if you help me". I said "Show me the goods" and they bring out a laptop and says I got the power in my hands. She said she will bring it down to 469 if I take it now. And the technician guy says that he will buy it at that price. He is not going to let it go at such a low price... How pathetic the sales guys have become?

Went to local Staples and wouldn't give us the computer for the sale price, but called another store and they honored the price for us and said they just needed to use the online coupon code at check out!
2nd location closest to me.... Showed manager (he knows I resell) the on line offer...cq60-420us He said I got you covered, how many do you want... Cashier knew exactly how to modify price, she said it had been done at least 5 times before me.

Foot lose and fancy free. Use em or loose em. Lose lips sink ships. Sometimes you win, sometimes you loose. I could go on, but I might loose my mind while wearing this lose belt.
