For Staples Rewards Premier members, there is an event by invitation (snail mail) for 2 hours of shopping on July 19 (8-10am) w/$10 off $20 coupon included in the invitation. Hopefully the ad pricing will be effective at the event.

Any $26.07 or more item for $23 off plus tax and cost of coupon:

1 pk. of Zebra Cadoodles 2.99
1 pk. of Zebra Gel pens: 4.99
1 pk. of Pentel Handy Highlighters 4.99
2 pks. of Staples photo Supreme 25.98
1 Staples slimline pencil sharpener 10.00

Total so far: 48.93

Load up on 26.07 worth of whatever you want, get a 25 off 75 coupon.

Total comes to $75.00
Coupon: -25.00
Rebates: -46.93
Total spent 3.07

Naturally in the real world numbers won't be that perfect to come to exactly $75 but you get the idea.

The pricing will probably be in effect, but will there be any of the FAR items left in stock?

The event is prior to the first day of the ad so hopefully there would be something available in-store.

different stores will do the premier event at different times. my store had hours AFTER the store closed on a sunday.

Where is the coupon?

holy crap the free backpack offer is awesome. so i know the rewards program has changed over the years -- when do rewards expire -- and can you still get residual value on a Staples cash card? Thanks!

Thanks!Usually a couple months after issued. They're issued quarterly (except for premier members), and not sent till nearly a month after the quarter closes. The residual is printed as a coupon on receipt paper with the same expiration date, but only once (two purchases total).

$10 off $40 OD coupon Most Staples will accept these.

UPDATE: Thanks for the red, MISTERCHEAP, but not only do all of the Staples around me accept these, they don't even bat an eye!

was looking for LCD .. good

The
pretzel offer
is in stores now. $2.99, at least it was in my local store

I saw someone mentioned the $25 off $75 coupon. When I searched for these I saw they could only be used when ordering online or via phone. Do you think that will be possible for this deal?

Thanks

When I bought this Compaq laptop in my local Staples B&M a few days ago, I wasn't charged for recycling fee. (I'm in Arnold's state).

Its possible to buy printable ones as well.

According to cust svc, $75 rewards for camera purchase are going out today.

It's been ages since I used rewards, I think practically since they removed rewards for tech etc.

I wish I'd realized how much they changed the rules before I ordered the camera. I hope they have something FAR before the rewards expired, because if not they are really forcing you to buy something in their store within a short period of time.

Item bought with rewards $ and returned will get rewards reissued but only as long as the rewards haven't expired yet and the reissued rewards will have the same expiration as the original rewards. I don't think that's how it used to work.

It would be nice if the rewards program was
"The pie in the sky"

If you read the ad that the OP linked it says rewards will be mailed in 'October' not too bad but was hoping to buy the kid's backpack now and rewards later for supplies in about six weeks.

Question for anyone in the know: can I use a rewards check and a 25off75 coupon together? Will this hurt my rewards from this backpack deal?

Thanks.

Any good filler items?

If you go by the assumption that it did not hurt when you did the camera (nikon $75) deal, I would say that it would be valid for the backpack deal too

I read the restrictions on the coupon and it says that " Minimum purchase requirement of $75 must be met with purchases to which no other coupon or instant savings offer applies. Exclude desktop and laptop computers." The deal for the Samsung LCD is $70 instant saving. Can we still use it?

Because it's not FAR!

Text that must suck for the employees - having to work extra hours after the store is officially closed.

More specifically, it's $1 AR. But since $12.98 before rebate, it's useful for coupon purposes, even though you still have to pay $1/pack.

Rewards check is considered like cash, so yes, it should stack with the 25 off 75. Use the 25 off 75 first, then the rewards check (to avoid a situation where the rewards check lowers the balance below 75 raising questions. As kringan said, this is similar to the camera deal a few weeks back, and the consensus there was that coupons were unlikely to affect the rewards. Of course with the cameras it was a question of achieving a minimum purchase to earn a fixed reward, and here it's a question of what they base the rewards amount on, but I doubt they'll deduct coupon value from the rewards, especially if your purchase consists of more items than just a backback.

Staples accepts Office Depot competitive coupons???? Did Macy's tell Gimbels????
Are these coupons good at Staples????

Staples is now only paying the after coupon rebate amount. Ever since they started sending the VISA rebate cards, they started deducting the coupons. Even the stores don't seem to realize this, so make sure they decuct the coupon from somehting WITHOUT a coupon OR you lose the coupon amount. They don't seem to be able to deduct coupons at the end of the recipt any more & MUST deuct from individual items, so they usually choose the most expensive item, since it's easier for them. BEWARE. The stores keep telling me this doesn't happen, but I've found it on 95%+ opf my rebates from Staples recently.
Does anyone know a way around this? If every item has a rebate, you lose the coupon.

Coupons and Staples Rewards don't decrease rebate checks. That seems to be in the historical record.

However, with Staples Rewards, the total Staples Rewards that re mailed out seem to be figured from net purchases. Look at your Rewards purchase history and it looks like coupons are subtracted.

So, it may be with the 100% backpack deal a buyer must put additional items on the backpack receipt equal or above the amount of the Rewards check in order to receive 100% of the backpack price back.

Is there any way to know ahead of time before we start cashing in Rewards and buying coupons?

RIP

For the Premier members who received a $10 off $20. Suggestion to buy the two FAR pens at $4.99 each plus the sharpener for total of $19.98, find a two cent filler or whatever, apply $10 off so total is $10 plus tax minus $4.99-$4.99-$10 rebates for a profit of around $8 when tax is included.

Here's a question. Will this be possible? I have a $10 of $50 to OfficeMax that I would like to use. Could I buy the paper $25.98+$2.99 FAR pens+two 2009 Calendars (I believe I saw some at $9.99)+$1.05 filler item to reach $50. Then cashier totals it hand them my $10 off coupon bringing subtotal to $40, then hand them two coupons for the 2009 calendars (received in email from Staples) which makes the calendars a $1 each, which would take off -$8.99-$8.99 for both bringing subtotal to $22.02 plus tax (give or take a dollar or two for filler items). Minus paper and pens rebate and you have a small profit or at least paying very little. Just wondering if this would work?

I had called up the Staples rewards toll free number today and I was informed that the rebate check would be for $150 (for two nikon cameras) and it should be arriving latest by August 16th.

My experence is different. I bought quick book ($89.99 FAR), I used $25 off $75 and $30 ink reward, so I paid 38.05 ($3.06 tax). And I received visa rebate card with $89.99.

oops

Probably being the biggest or one of the biggest Staples users here, I have never had a rebate reduced by using coupons.
$210k in gross purchases last year and should be that or more this year, all laptops/printers and cameras, all bought with $25 or $30 off coupons
