I used this coupon at Petco but it only gave me $3.90 off, not $5. Anyone know what's up with that? (my total before tax (and after other coupons) was above $25)
I went to Petco with the coupon earlier today and after the cashier scanned it she called for a manager. I was a little worried at this point that the coupon was going to be rejected. The manager came over and the cashier told her that the coupon was giving a $6 discount when it should have been giving a $5 discount.
The manager said "Oh I know what this is" and ran off in to a back office. She came back with a printout with a barcode on it that said it was a fix for a $5 off $25 coupon that was scanning as a %15 off coupon. This probably explains why Govenar only got $3.90 off his purchase. I would think you could get the $5 off if you go back Govenar. Not sure if it is worth the $1.10 difference to you though.
Does anyone know where to get the actual 15% off coupon?
I think it would be wise to try to use this coupon somewhere else. After looking around in Petco recently, we were amazed how high their prices are. I really don't see how they stay in business. For example, we noticed something that was around $36 there, about $26 at PETsMART, and $16 at WalMart, for the exact same item. We noticed other items like that too. One item was even much cheaper at Publix (which is often high for non-food items if not on sale, and is probably a MSRP price).
Also, both times we went, the cats they had for adoption were in cages with litter that was beyond needing to be scooped/replaced. And they had dirty water. They said it was a rescue organization that takes care of them, and I guess they only come in once a day (if that). But if it's in their store, they should make sure they're in better conditions than that. I hate seeing that. The ones at PETsMART have always been in clean cages when I went.
