This is the "GL" router, not to be confused with the similarly-named but less-capable WRG54G (with no "L"). The "GL" model is specifically designed to accept third-party firmware. If you're not familiar with the idea of installing third-party firmware on a router, this probably isn't the router you need... but if you ARE familiar, then you'll probably agree $47.69 is a great price for a new WRT54GL.
Newegg.com doesn't say how long this price will last.

$47.69 + $7.30 shipping = $54.99 no deal Title should include + Shipping or Final Price after shipping. There has been a better deal on this router as well
I had one and it only lasted a year. I thought that Linksys used to have a three year warranty, then went to a one year warranty after Cisco bought them.
Linksys is sending me a replacement, all I have to pay for is shipping.
Just bought this Asus router for $45 w/FS and flashed it with a custom build of Tomato which included support for the USB print server among other things. Got it all working last night and so far so good. Stock firmware was a joke, but thats why we have DD-WRT and Tomato to turn to.
Is there something else about that WL-520gC that makes it inferior to the 520gU? I've always heard great praise about the WL-520gU but not much about the WL-520gC. Perhaps the 520gU is amped with more memory and the 520gC is NOT amped with less memory and a fixed mount antenna? I'm just guessing here.
I remember hacks to add antenna to Linksys models. Does the WRT54GL have a fixed antenna? I know you can always cut and solder.

The only difference i believe is that the gU has the usb port and the gC doesn't. That and the gC is cheaper. Newegg shows the gU as having a 3 year warranty and only 1 for the gC.
