AMAZ0N currently has the Xbox 360 arcade on sale for $179 shipped (unless you are an unfortunate resident of a state where AMAZ0N collects tax)

I searched for both AMAZ0N & Xbox and couldn't find this deal; hopefully not a repeat.

Nice price. That's about the best I have been able to find. The price is probably dropping now because of the upcoming PS3 price drop.

i read the 360 arcade version is not compatible with original xbox games? is that just because of the lack of hdd? or is there actual hardware differences between the different skus?

Yes, it is due to the lack of a harddrive.

where do you see pro for $50 more? I see it on Dell not Amazon, but I need to use up my $75 console coupon from the trade in few months back

Our Xbox 360 Premium (20Gb HD) just died. Anyone know if I can buy an Arcade and use the HD from the original unit? Are they paired to the box or can they be moved around?
