slim does have bd. all ps3 games are in bd format.
These 80gb should be alot cheaper than 300. The slim is quiter cooler and 120gb. Unless your going to put linux on it, no question get the slim.

Cheaper than $300? I guess it sounds like a lot, but at least it's finally "affordable". That's half the original asking price (minus some functionality that most people don't use).
The biggest missing piece is PS2 emulation, but they haven't had that in a while already so I'm not missing it. Most people diving into the Playstation console series this late in the game probably won't be going out to buy PS2 games and the people who already have existing PS2 game collections should also have a PS2 to play them on.
I wish my existing PS3 was quieter, but I'm not willing to shell out $300 to get one that is. If I wsan't already on the boat, though, I'd probably be getting one now.
From the beginning, it's sounded like Sony wants to ride the PS3 train longer than the other console makes want to with their own current-gen offerings. I have to wonder when talks will start back up about a new system coming down the pipes for Nintendo or Microsoft.
