Also Circuit City is doing a PayPal promo of $20 back when you use PayPal to pay. This brings the final cost to $362.50.
As such, all 3 sites are just different skins for the same site. TigerDirect has offered 12-15% off fairly regularly since Bing CashBack launched, but that is no guarantee that they will continue to do so.
So, if the circuit city discount link no longer appears, you can get the same deal using the video card search on bing and then going to the TigerDirect link instead, but as for how long that will last is anyone's guess.
As I mentioned in a different thread, while definitely a great price - this is a pretty standard deal, as you can get 15% off ANYTHING at Circuit City/ TigerDirect at the moment with the bing CashBack. So, while it's definitely the best deal on what appears to be a smoking good ultra portable, as long as TigerDirect keeps up the 15% off promotion, you should be able to get this deal at any time, so think of it more like the eBay blanket bing CashBack deal and you can't go wrong.
Thanks liar, you're right. I used PayPal and didn't get the $20 back after checkout, then saw on SD that the promo ended on the 8th, so I was sure the promo was over. I see that it takes 6-8 weeks to get the $20 so that explains things.
Why haven't Intel upgraded their GPU already? It's taking forever. They've been using this weak 4500 for a couple of years. All you need to run HD(720p) is a Good GPU with a 1.2GHz CPU. I'll stay away from Netbooks or Notebooks with 4500 until Intel upgrade their GPU. I have an ATI X300(circa 2005) on my Dell with 1.6GHz Sonoma CPU(pre-Core Solo). HD 720p video looks better than on a Acer Notebook with Intel T6400 Core2Duo 2GHz and 4500MD GPU.

While I can definitely sympathize, as someone who suffered through Vista for a year before they finally made it tolerable on my brand new Dell with a Core 2 Quad and 4GB RAM when they released SP1, you do have to accept that all new notebooks will either come with Vista or Windows 7. (This comes with a free upgrade to Windows 7, which while still not as fast as Xp on low end hardware, it is definitely better than Vista.)
Ultimately, if you ever plan on buying anything more powerful than a netbook, you will be getting Vista or Windows 7, so unless you never plan on buying a new notebook, you will either have to consign yourself to a new version of Windows or reinstall XP yourself.

actually, my Atom based netbook plays flash games and video more than adequately. Only issue is HD video, some plays fine, like foxtv.com, some doesn't. Which sounds pretty much the same as this Acer.
Still, if this Acer weighs 3 lbs it sounds like a good alternative to an expensive netbook, but it doesn't come close to "killing" the $200-250 class netbooks which is the price point I think makes netbooks a good deal.
Well I just jumped on red. Also bought a crucial 2 gb stick, which doesn't seem like a bad deal for $25 after the CashBack. Could do better with MIR, but not much. Combining bing and paypal gets this to be a good price for a 4gb netbook.
I played with this unit's Atom-based twin. They keyboard may be "full sized", but it is awful. I will probably never be satisfied with anything less than an IBM keyboard, but I wonder how it is that so many manufacturers will spend millios to engineer motherboards, chipsets, displays to the Nth degree, but never bother to have their keyboards tested by typists.

Yea... the list price will likely be $549 with 3GB memory, a 320GB hard drive & Bluetooth. Should also come with the 8 hour, not the 6 hour battery. And 3G wireless seems NOT to be forthcoming.
I've guessed at the price using informed conversions of web-vendor listings in Sweden, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, China and Korea. These countries also are selling a 2GB and 250GB hard drive model for a little less.
I've attached a photo from a Korean site with a chart comparing the 3 CPUs.

I love the Thinkpad keyboard, but my next door neighbor hates them and loves the macbook keyboard, which I hate.
Can't blame a company for making something that doesn't appeal to your own personal preference.
