Yes, promo code needs to be used during checkout. On the cart summary page you will see a box for the promo code and the following message next to it "If you have a valid promotional code, enter it here in ALL CAPS. Promotional code will be applied to total during checkout."

Looks like a great deal for new customers but existing customers can't order online with the promo code, so no Cash Back.

Tried this offer yesterday and unfortunately it has expired, but they did lower the price on the MyTouch to $149.
I have to say it is one cool phone. I camp a lot and now have two back up compasses, a back up gps tracker, a constellation viewer (just hold the phone up and it orients to show you the constellations you are looking at with their names!) and a lot more on my phone. All for free.
