9/23 Update - the terms for the coupon code HALFTIME have been changed to exclude this model. Combined with the price increase to $999, and this deal is dead. Sorry to anyone who wasn't able to get in on this in time.
Current status - price has gone up to $999 in cart, $899 when the coupon is applied. May not be a great deal at this point unless you use a Sears card and get the other 10% rebate.
Coupon is supposed to be good until 9/26, if you are still interested in this deal, you might want to wait and see if the price dips back down.
I have the 42" version of this plasma and I love it. 1080p, great reviews.
that has to be a price mistake. thats crazy cheap. GREEN GREEN GREEN TOUCHDOWN!

For those serious about this I see 200$ mfr rebate for combined Panasonic Blueray player purchase in Microcenter ad, but dont have time to search now. For reference 999$ at Amazon.

The price of these are going so low, it makes me wonder if new models are coming out soon.

Bingo, plus the manufacturing-to-demand was a bit off the past year due to the economy...supply and demand at work where the demand forcast was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy off.
Crazy Deal, I've been looking in to the G10, but at this price I'm VERY tempted. According to AVS and lots of other sites this is a very good TV. I thought it would be Black Friday when we saw these kind of prices on a 50" 1080p quality display.
Bing's terms and conditions exclude coupon codes. You can try Bing, but don't be surprised if you don't get it. The FW Cash Back is valid with this coupon code as it is listed on the FW SearsCash Back page.

While I have never been denied any MS CB ... I have to agree with this assessment. CB can be hit-or-miss and if they deny your CB it can be near impossible to change their minds.
Now that the price of quality displays has sunk below $1,000 I have to decide whether to go plasma or LCD ...

Gave it a shot with with delivery scheduled for 9/30 which is my move-in date. I'll keep you updated.
Order Summary
Panasonic 50 in. (Diagonal) Class 1080p 600 Hz Plasma HD Television Qty. 1 Item Total: $899.99
With delivery and tax, this deal is colder than USAppliance. I just ordered this tv with the free BD60 Blu-ray player, $1,099 shipped, no tax, less $54.95 Bing CB.
Not a bad deal if you pick up and can get the additional 10% from the Searscard rebate.

I agree it is not so hot if you pay $65 for shipping. But personally (although I have purchased my last 3 large flat screens off the Internet and had them shipped) I'd have preferred to pick them up from a local store if the price had been comparable or better like it is in this case.
My last 2 sets came with the shock sensor indicating they had been mishandled during shipping. Unless there is visible damage, you are just supposed to notate that on the bill of lading, but still accept the TV. Fortunately the TV's turned out to work fine, but I can't imagine the hassle and expense of having to ship one of these back if it arrived looking ok but still DOA or if failed after a week or so.
For big ticket items, I think there is real value in dealing with a B&M store. And although I work from home and can easily stick around for a 4+ hour delivery window, that isn't the case for everyone.

Living in Manhattan and being without a car, the $65 delivery is well worth it.

No, unless the manufacturers have let some information slip out. New models are unveiled yearly at the electronics show in Las Vegas sometime in the middle of January. These new models hit the sales floor sometime in February or early March. This explains the sales that you see in late winter and early spring.
The current low prices may just be due to overstocking and cheaper technology.
those of you shipping it - its cheapers at Vann's at 999.97 and same 2% CashBack. free shipping & you get a wall mount. around $1k seems to be the new price for the 50s1.

The FW Cash Back is valid with this coupon code as it is listed on the FW SearsCash Back page. It does not hurt to try. If you do not see CB confimation after 2-3 days, just e-mail Bing. Bing is still trying badly to attract users, so very good chance they will credit the CB.

I paid 931.99 for the same Plasma with DMP-BD60 Blu-Ray player at Amazon last Friday which included free shipping no tax 47 giftcard I had laying around 200 instant savings 156.73 price adjustment (which they warned me was a one time thanks for shopping courtesy)
It's being white glove delivered tomorrow (got the Blu-ray player today).
Free installation (delivery)! Ok, here's another rebate form I just came across. It provides a rebate for the cost of installation up to $199. If you select Standard Setup and say that the installer should deliver the product, the cost of installation is $189. They bring the TV to you, set it up if you want them to, otherwise bid them a fare-the-well and send them on their way. Except for the fact that you have to pay $189 up front and get reimbursed via rebate, it's free delivery!
Dang, pulled my Sears card of out hibernation and was going to pull the trigger (I've been holding out for a thinner screen, but this was too good of a deal to pass up), and found out my card had expired. I called the Sears card customer service and they said my account had been closed due to inactivity (probably been 5+ years since I used it).
billmr said: Woolooloo I think that is a good thing for you, perhaps you could be considered a new customer when you open a new Sears card and get extra % off ?
I'm not really looking to open any new credit accounts, but I don't see any way to apply online and get extra % off anyways. I think the deal is only good online so going to a B&M store to place the order probably isn't going to work either.

Green for you op...great deal from a B&M. I have confirmed that it must be an online order to get the extra 10%.
Does the rebate work for both the Sears card and the Sears mastercard?
I bought this same set from Best Buy a couple days ago, they do price matching. I printed the Sears page and brought it in, and explained the Sears card $100 gift card, and they credited me $200! I got the set for $799! On top of that, I STILL got 18 months no interest financing. Hells yeah!
jonle said: I was denied too, for the same reason "great price item" not very nice -(
Does anyone have a screen shot from back then? Since some are getting it and some are being denied, I guess we'll have to go to Corporate. I'll look it up but if anyone has an address or phone number for corporate where they have had success, please post.
