all wiper blades should be replaced twice a year. most last only 6 months with regular use.
That all depends on where you live and under what weather conditions. Blanket statements like that sound like someone who has a vested interest in the purchase.

well, made that statement from a northern state with a decent amount of ice/snow in the winter. that combined with the salt from the roads do put a real workload on wiper blades. vested interest in the purchase? c'mon, I used the word "all" wiper blades, don't care what brand really. whether I have rain-x, anco or bosch on my car, I still change them 2x a year. so not sure why I'd benefit from this....just my 2 cents. that's all.

Highly doubt MisterCheap works for either Amazon or Bosch...what an idiotic comment.. Likely Amazon. I have not bought anything from Amazon. way too expensive

Maybe so...I did find a "used" blade listed for sale when I searched under my vehicle

as noted in OP, rebate form good from any retailer (don't see any exclusions), so if you can find a better deal at Auto Zone, PepBoys, etc, purchase them there and submit.
Bosch are the best choice from the new wave of design blades. I tried Michelin (what a crap) and Valeo. I would put Valeo a little bit below Bosch quality.

Sorry - had to edit a third time
Autozone is having a a BOGO @ 50% off after rebate on all wiper blades.
Are there a pair? or Each one has a pair (two) of blades? If so, which one should I buy, short one or longer one?
I am still running my original blades on my 03 Accord. 142K miles on it. The blades still works great. I may need to replace them after reading this thread.

no, these are sold as "one" blade per package. you must buy 2 packs to get the rebate as a "pair".

Even with the rebate, it comes to around $19 for the two blades for my vehicle. Are they seriously worth that much money when you're supposed to replace them every six months? I'm not being critical -- just asking real world experience. I typically buy cheaper brands at an auto parts store (best I've bought is Rain-X, about $14/pr I think), and I've not noticed any variance in quality, even with the Rain-X.
If they last longer, then I'd consider spending more, but it doesn't sounds like that's the case.

And thats exactly the point. You base this of your own personal experience. I've seen replacements having to be done in less time than that in the winter in northern states or in very hot (dry) southern states.

I purchased a set from Amazon the last time this rebate was available. The blades hug the windshield, clean well and the single blade design seems to reduce the wiper noise and chatter. They also install in a snap and are in good condtion in their second season in no snow/occasional rain conditions.
I bought and installed last year. I have to agree with terrydyne. these are good wiper blades.

Anybody have any comments on Goodyear Assurance wipers, $7.99 each at Costco warehouse (B&M).

I would not recommend using branches as windshield wipers, as they are likely to scratch your windshield. Also note that the water clearing properties of them are less than ideal.

Some thin branches may become flexible when used in the rain

I just replaced a pair of wornout year-old winter blades on my Jetta with Michelins that were about $7 a piece from Wal-Mart. I obviously cannot comment on their longetivity after only a week of use, but for a new install, they are as good or better than any blades I have ever purchased before. My old blades were just smearing and would not remove caked-on bugs, but with a few squirts of my washer fluid, I had a clean, almost totally bug-free windshield after installing the Michelins. Hopefully they'll hold up through the end of winter.
just a silly question. I just checked dealer prices for OEM blades. They seem to be cheaper than the above quoted price. Is OEM stuff better or Bosch ICON?

Bosch Icon are not symmetrical, so you have to make sure you buy the correct driver side (A) and passenger side (B) blades. Usually the passenger side are the shorter blades.

You can get the OEM wiper inserts directly from the dealership parts desk, atleast for Toyota. I had my originals for about 3 years and replaced them a year ago and the replacements are still in great condition after a year. It only costs about $12 or $13 for both wiper inserts. Its just the rubber part you reuse the metal piece inside of it.
Before we found that out we always had issues with aftermarkets not fitting properly or wearing out too fast. The OEMs from the part desk are the exact same ones that came with the car so they fit perfect and they last a long time. Plus the price is very competitive with what you would find at autozone or WalMart for aftermarkets that dont fit as well.
Completely agree. I have used several brands and found the OEM blades have worked best. I just buy the rubber inserts and use the original wiper frame. I was told that the OEM blade/holders are designed to match the curve of the windshield, while the aftermarkets are shaped as a generic compromise.
