Looks like a glitch. The price breakdown said price for return ticket $100 (to HYD) and $526.74 taxes, fee, charges, etc. My hunch is that was supposed to be $1000 and someone missed a naught. Get ready for cancellations.
What dates are you looking at? Cheapest I found from ATL to BOM was just under $1400. with taxes ... my dates are flexible and I've been needing a ticket.
holly crap. I was there the 568 from SFO - DEL (return) but they caught me in the middle of my transaction and now its 800+ one way. damm that would have been a steal.
Can't get anyone to go. They're all freaked out about that terrorist thing from awhile back; where the terrorists shot a bunch of people at a hotel, a Chabad house, etc. That is pretty scary, but I doubt it would happen again

That incident was not as bad as 9/11, if that was the logic they shouldn't be in USA either. If your death is inevitable you will slip in your bathroom hit your head with commode and die. There were people in all terrorist attacks who survived, you never know. But if they are afraid you can't do much buddy. I wish I knew if I could go. I am gonna talk to my supervisor on Monday, hope these prices stay till Monday.
I don't know I book it for travel in Feb 2010 for my family of 3 (total cost 1700 with trip assurance of 100), Orbitz has given me the confirmation number but I got a page which says the tickets numbers will be issued only upon confirmation from the airlines. Now wondering if anything happens then
This reservation request has been sent to the airline(s). Final purchase is pending until we receive confirmation from the airline(s). Once that confirmation is received, we will issue the ticket(s), and send a "Travel Document" e-mail including trip details and ticket number(s) within 24 hours.
yup looked around for fares and everything seems to be fixed... an hour late

I was able to view it on BA.com using Airline Locator # but it has been cancelled and I can't view my reservation anymore
Got the cancellation email from Orbitz. It was showing confirmed on BA . com and I'd forwarded my itinerary from them. I called Orbitz but it's of no use. May be we can fight with BA. Did anyone book with BA got it cancelled?
Thank you for choosing Orbitz as your preferred travel provider. We regret to inform you that, due to limited availability, the airline was not able to confirm the flights you requested. Therefore, no tickets have been issued for this trip and your credit card has not been charged.
Situations like this are rare; however, when they do occur we attempt to contact our customers immediately as to avoid missing out on advance purchase opportunities. To book a different flight, please visit www.Orbitz.com
To help you understand how this situation could occur: Orbitz is a full service travel agency. Our advanced search engine searches two billion fares within seconds from over 450 airlines. Our secure on-line booking system accesses fares and availability from the same central reservation systems that other travel agents and airline reservation agents are booking from worldwide. As you can imagine, with the extensive volume of agents booking flights at any given time, availability for a particular flight can be gone in an instant. Therefore, when your ticketing request reached the airline, availability for the flight(s) you selected was no longer available.
The confirmation e-mail that you may have received is only an acknowledgement that the flights you selected for purchase have been sent to the airline for approval prior to ticketing and does not guarantee ticket issuance.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and look forward to serving you in the near future.

Still it was worth a shot I thought.
Sorry folks this was 2 good to last I got a email from Orbitz

Did anybody receive cancellation email from Orbitz this morning?
Pl file the complaint against BA and Orbitz as we can go to Link [ftccomplaintassistant.gov] and click on FTC complaint assistant and fill out all the information...no need to give your contact information...no name require...no personal detail require...just basic questions. Its BA and Orbitz mistake that, they didnt agree to issue ticket at deal prices... and if it was the limited time offer then they should have closed the deal once they get enough reservation..they should not have promised....so legally you can file the complaint. Please report the incident as an active consumer......

Or, you could get a life and move on to the next price mistake deal...

I booked it through Orbitz but got mail today that it has been cancelled.
ns21 said: My husband and I were planning an Indian wedding in Mumbai, so booked our tickets with another airline on the 2nd Oct for 850 dollars per head. After we found out cheaper tickets on BA we booked tickets for 650 USD via Orbitz and cancelled our other ticket. We got a confirmation and my credit card was charged. It has been charged twice once by BA and once by Orbitz. Yesterday after 8 days of booking our ticket we were emailed by Orbitz that the ticket is cancelled. In these eight days we got our entire wedding reservations done in India for us and our families. Today I have difficulty booking my tickets for India firstly because the price for the same ticket is 2000 USD, and secondly since my credit card has been charged twice if I book another ticket it would exceed my credit limit. Orbitz has refunded the money however when I called BA they say it would take 7 business days to refund the money according to their policy. On explaining my current situation they say wait for 7 days for the money to be refunded and then book another ticket. That would mean further hike in the price and further expense to my pocket without any fault of mine. Not only has BA been unethical but they also are being indifferent to the damage they have caused to the customer.
It's a sign: you're supposed to call off the wedding.
