Great deal overall if you can use the Sears card rebate. I'm happy with the $710 net price on my LG 50PS60 plasma I got a month ago in the August deal, but for an extra 5" in size and an LCD, this is a great deal. Prices have been plummeting so fast lately on both plasma and LCDs, I wouldn't buy anything unless you needed to buy something right now (opportunity was perfect timing for me a month ago). It just seems there is no bottom to the falling prices yet.

I was reading the Sears rebate and is this correct. If you get the Sears gift card instead of the prepaid master card you get an additional 10%. Or is that additional 10% you have to buy something first or is it included with the first 10%?

And $710 net price for the 50PS60 I wish Ive seen that when you got it haha.

Oh man, I was just debating getting the Panasonic 50" Plasma @ Sears for $750 after taxes...now I don't know!

Think I should wait until Black Friday?

ziptree, I posted the information I used to make my decision here. I recommend you look at both and read up a bit before deciding. I think at 50" plasma looks better (though I curtained my room). The price for the plasma will allow you to buy a nice home theater or a blu-ray player -- both if you shop. For me, that would be the way to go.

No sales tax in Oregon, and that with without the extra Sears 5% or 10% that was going on at the time. Some got it even cheaper than $710 before tax...a few even after tax.

From the e-mail:
Search for Sears products on Bing.com and earn Cash Back on your purchase. Find tons of fall-inspired prices on items like electronics, fall fashion, football gear, and more!

For one day only on 10/4, save big during Sears' Friends and Family event! You can find amazing deals and earn up to 10% Cash Back.

that deal lasted for weeks, the 10% bonus is really just 1% additional (10% of 10%) for taking a Sears gc.

Wow that's a great price. Too bad I don't need another one or else I'd be all over this.

Wher do I find the rebate? I went to the site listed and didn't see a TV promotion for LG.

Edit: never mind, found it.

Hi ziptree,
How are you calculating your price for the 50 inch plasma. Is it the 720p?

Thanks.

I ordered this earlier today and have never used my Sears card until today. What do I do to apply for the 10% rebate? TIA

at this point in time of the year, people commonly say wait until black friday but my experience has been that black friday deals are typically disappointing. even if the deal is sweet, frequently only the first 5 people get the deal and that requires more effort than i can put forth at my age. i dont doubt that prices will continue to fall somewhat but i dont see any magic in the day after thanksgiving.

I'm keen to the idea of doing a price match to this at Best Buy and taking advantage of their current 0% interest for three years offer.
