Woh, this is big, where did you sign up to get this, I don't see anything on their email program that refers to this. Has anyone tried this?

Just called, said he wasn't aware of any email but to bring the coupon down and they would work me in for an oil change today.

i just signed up for their email program and got a measly 10% off coupon...

I chickened out after reading that it was for the Atlanta area only, its only for Kendal synthetic oil and the horror stories about Tires Plus.

ok, an oil change that seems too cheap to be true... beware...

A FREE oil change from anyone besides WalMart... stay away!

Free lunch, yada yada yada. These people are not generous, nor can they afford to be. They're also probably not stupid. If you end up going to Tires Plus for this offer, be prepared to deal with some unpleasant business (might as well be visiting a timeshare salesman).

Edit: I expect a few reds from people who are excited about the free service, but it's for the greater good

be wary, some websites have photoshop guys making fake coupons that look genuine

some stores have caught on to this too and are taking action against people bringing in the fake coupons

i have no idea if this is one of those fake ones, but considering the supposed "deal" here, just wanted to say something about it

Agreed, if it is a legit coupon, be prepared for a hard upsell of things you probably don't need. They'll try to scare you and say you need a new belt because the one on your car looks like it's going to break at any minute, etc...
Anyway, I don't trust anyone at places like this to do ANYTHING to my car. They don't give a rip about you or your car, and why should they? Especially if they're giving you something for free*.

*coupon says a $2.50 recycled oil fee will be charged. That's probably just the tip of the iceburg.

i got a flyer with this in the mail....im from atlanta

Take action. Put some salt into the offender's car!!!

I had a horrible experience with my local TIRE PLUS. I got four tires from them and they said free life time rotation. After around six months I went for tier rotation. The mechanic said I need to change one of my tier since it is about to burst and it does not cover under warenty. It cost me $90. They also sold me insurance for $80 incase if the same things happen again. During the pick up I ask them to show the damage to the tier and he told that it’s been already sent for recycle. I am sure it’s their trick. I am sure your free oil change cost you couple of hundred dollars. Please stay away from TIRE PLUS.

Who pays to replace a tire without looking at the old one? Especially when the tires are only 6 months old?

Take the free oil change and EXPECT them to tell you that you need:
tires,
shocks,
battery,
tie rods,
idler arms,
etc.,
etc.,
you-name-it.

Just tell them you're getting the car ready to give away to Charity.
THAT should shut them up.

Why would anyone about to give away a car bother with an oil change?

Be aware that they will be using a synthetic blend. If you drive a euro car and have been using a full synthetic I wouldn't put this in my car if it was still under warranty. You shouldn't change oil types frequently.

Because it's free (+$2.50)...

Bring a plastic sack and ask for the filter back in order to save the $2.50 charge. Then after you're done and in your car hand the plastic sack with filter back to the attendant and ask them nicely to dispose of it. evil:

Short and simple. I'll pass.

Still gave you a green tho

I call fake. Who spells TIRE PLUS right but can't spell tire the rest of the time? TIRE tire tier?

The $2.50 fee is for OIL recycling, not oil FILTER recycling, so that wouldn't work.

Seriously. Man I hope this guy lives by me, I have a tons of islands for sale.

Also, SD says this deal is only for the Atlanta Area. You must sign up for their email online AND you have input your customer number from the mailer.

This printed coupon is a BIG YMMV.

I changed my oil for the 1st time (in a loooong time) a week ago; and took my oil to the auto parts store to dump it in their receptacle, but the filter went in the dumpster; d'oh!

I wouldn't even bother for this coupon... not because of the upsell because I find those amusing, particularly when they do something like strip the oil pan bolt to put you in a catch 22... but that they'll never accept it.

The $2.50 fee is for OIL recycling, not oil FILTER recycling, so that wouldn't work.

Reread the coupon.

Add $2.50 for used oil filter recycling.

Sure that's what it says, but that isn't what it means. Try and see!

Went to Tires Plus in Burtonsville, MD today and got the free oil change. No problem at all, total cost $2.60 for oil disposal.

I just got it done yesterday. No problems at all. They simply asked where I got the coupon and , of course, I couldn't remember. Anyhow, service was great.

free oil change coupon oh yes, I gave one to my son for his car and they did honor the it. He got it for free.

Great deal

No charge whatsoever, only problem really is the amount of time you need to kill to get the deal done

My BF was going to change the oil himself due to getting in on the Castrol Edge deal earlier but at this price this one was too good to mi$$

Thanks OP

This was for ATL area. Originally sent to customers that have already been there and hence have a customer number. This is not a legit coupon for all to use.

I am in Denver. Just took it in and set up my appointment for an oil change. It will cost me about $2.65.

remember: guys have been trying to get their equipment serviced for free for ages. a few free services and the (often false) promise of a lifetime of servicing does come with a strong salespitch and at a high price -- marriage -- that often feels worse than any timeshare pitch i've gotten

Hello all. I am a service manager from one of the orlando locations. These coupons are fake. they showed up about a year ago on the internet and seam to be all over the place. HOWEVER, we have benn advised by our district staff to accept these coupons regardless. ANd when it comes to aall of these cpmplaints I'm reading.... let me shed some light on the subject. The car belongs to you. If we (or any other service provider) make recomendations on your car that you don't agree with or don't want just say no. its that simple. But you must understand. It is our job to inspect your car and advise you of any issues that it may have or may be up coming. WOuld you rather us not say a thing and you car break down sometime in the near future. or how about we see a safety issue and we not say anything and you possibly wreck the car or kill someone. WHat everyone needs to understnad is in most cases the problem is the person. Not the company. Its not the dealer ripping you off or the local mom and pop shop. It's that on idiot who thinks he can pull one over on you. It boils down to this. If you don't want to hear about the problems, tell them up front i dont want my car inspected. Trust me, If you don't WANT to buy, WE dont Want to inspect and waste our time. Or if you want it inspected and you don't understand/believe them. then aske them to PROVE it. ALl parts are ALWAYS saved untill the car is billed out. NEVER BELIEVE ANYONE.
