Signup doesn't work for me. I tried all 5 of my Citi Cards and it always tells me that it cannot verify my information.
BTW these headphones suck for anything other than eBaying. Go sell them then buy a decent set of in-ear headphones from Shure, Etymotic, Sennheiser, etc.
nice find, OP! green for the deal itself, but not bose SQ.
IMHO, even for $30, this headphone is still overpriced, not to mention how much people hate citi extracash program, which is an insult to customers intelligence.
howwlovey said: how does the estra cash works? I have about $1000 extra cash. what does that mean? if i get these, than i will have 970 lef or what?
Unfortunately no...you still have to pay $30, but you get $60 off your extra rewards or whatever the difference is. Such a terrible rewards concept, IMO as everything is still usually overpriced.
Retail Price: $89.99 Extra Cash: -60.00 You Pay : $29.99
Therefore, if you had $1000, you would now have $940 Extra Cash and a $30+shipping charge on your Citi card...
anyone know which Citi Cards qualify to sign up for extra cash, as i tried a few and none worked and I spoke with extra cash customer service and they said only some Citi Cards qualify but they werent sure which ones

If you are earning "Thank You" points on your card, then your card is not qualified for extra cash. All other "Cash Back" card should be qualified as per CSR.

Showing sold out. Can anyone confirm if it is still available.
zindagi said: The eligible cards are Platinum Select, Diamond Preferred and AT&T Universal Platinum cards.
Agh! Just got off the phone with 2 citi reps -useless as always. When they told me diamond preferred I asked why it wasn't working on my diamond preferred and they couldnt figure it out, finally they decided that diamond preferred rewards doesnt qualify. neither does platinum drivers edge!
I just got them in. Was missing a piece and called Bose. Was told that mine cord was suppose to be all black and mine is white and black. Was told that they are fake. Anyone else have this problem.

Hi all.
Like some of you, I stumbled across this "Daily Deal." I said to myself, "Finally, something worth buying from this otherwise worthless free rewards program." After they arrived two days ago (10/13/09), I decided to put them up on eBay.
Within about 12 hours, the listing was removed and I received an email from eBay that reads:
You recently listed the following auction-style listing:
140352257399 - Bose in-ear headphones - BRAND NEW IN BOX
The listing was removed because it violated eBay policy.
The rights owner or an agent authorized to act on behalf of the rights owner, Bose Corporation, notified eBay that this listing violates intellectual property rights. When eBay receives a report of this type of violation, we remove the listing to comply with the law.
The rights owner reported the following information:
Bose requested the removal of your listing because we believed in good faith that your listing offered counterfeit Bose in-ear headphones for sale. In many cases, our belief is based on the photo shown in the listing. In some cases, our belief is based on other factors such as quantity, price, feedback ratings, etc. If you believe that you have offered genuine product for sale, please send a message to Report_Counterfeits@bose.com with your eBay user ID and item number(s), receipt or other proof of purchase of the product from an authorized dealer, and a photograph of the product (front of the package for plastic packs, side of pack with product code / serial no. for cardboard packs). We will respond to your inquiry as quickly as possible. It's against the law to sell fake or unauthorized copies of a brand-name product. It can also be misleading for buyers. So if the product you're selling bears the brand name or logo of a company, but it wasn't made or authorized by that company, you aren't allowed to list it on eBay.
You may need to take a tutorial. The next time you sell, you may be asked to take the tutorial, if it's required. Once you've completed the tutorial successfully, please review your account status for any other possible concerns. If there are no other issues, you should be able to sell again.
To take the intellectual property tutorial, please visit:
Please be aware that any additional violations of this policy may result in the suspension of your account. eBay understands that you may be concerned about this situation. We encourage you to contact Bose Corporation directly if you have any questions.
For more information on how eBay protects Intellectual Property, or for additional information if you believe that your listing has been removed as a result of an error or misidentification, please visit the following Help page:
The rights owner has created an About Me page that contains information to help you understand why removal of your listing was requested. For more information about the rights owner, please go to:
Please be assured that your listings have not been targeted in any way. Although there may be similar items currently listed on eBay, we review all listings that are reported to us by eBay members or Verified Rights Owner (VeRO) program participants. We rely on reports from our members to help maintain the safety and security of our Community. We encourage you to report any items by using the REPORT THIS ITEM button on the listing so we can quickly remove any other items that should be removed.
I contacted Patti with all the required information and she confirms that they are indeed counterfeit.
Furthermore, I called the 800 number on the packaging invoice to see what they had to see. After staying on hold for countless minutes, the representative told me that the product specialist team is looking into the issue. They believe there may have been a problem with the supplier. Yea, ya think?? They told me they would call me back when it gets resolved. I won't hold my breathe.
Regardless, this is illegal and Citi needs to make good on there deal. If you know anyone else who purchased these, please pass this on.

it is not fake.. the chord is white and black.. check the photos on bose website. I got mine couple days back, i registered them online fine. so i am pretty sure they are not fake.
I do not know why the bose customer rep said that. I'll call bose again and see what is going on.

I'm quite convinced that atleast a few of us received counterfeit items. Like I said, I've been email Patti Bowen with Bose Legal Support and she assures me that the packaging is not right. I've also sent her pictures of both the bar codes and serial numbers found on the package.
If you call Extra Cash, they'll tell you something's up too.
Ogre, maybe you got yours from a different supplier. How's the sound quality? Also look at the Bose logo on the headphones themself. Mine looks a little faded and it hasn't even left the packaging!
This deal was too good to be true; especially from Extra Cash.

First of all, this deal is not "too good to be true". This is a reward program deal, you got it because you gave some business to citibank. I know chase gives out 250 dollars in cash for using their credit card. this is nothing in front of that. and I am sure citiback cares enough for their status in market to sell fake bose earphones.
I checked my earphones, the logo is not faded. Plus as i mentioned i registered them online with the bar code on the package, and the fact the bose.com accepted the bar code proves that the earphones are not fake.
but this is my personal experience you should make sure urs are origial (or new for that matter)

I'm just sharing my experience with everyone. Obviously, no offer from a rewards program is too good to be true. It's all an incentive to use your card and there's no such thing as a free lunch. I'm sorry if that was misinterpreted.
I'm sure Citi cares about their image too. You should know that Extra Cash from Citi is owned and operated by Destination Rewards, Inc. Citi does not play a role in their decisions on who they get their products from. Regardless, this is probably an honest mistake.
Ogre, if everything worked out for you, great. A conscious consumer is a smart consumer. For everyone else, be on the look out.

i received my replacement today. I went to target and look at the headphones. The replacement headphones do not look at all (packaging-wise) as the ones in target. Do you think we have an original product now?
