Ad says can order online or get the camera instore

Starts 10/11/09

$180-$30 coupon -$50 gift card would be $100 for the top rated compact in Consumer Reports. This camera is $180 everywhere $100 is a good price if you can use/resell the gift card.

Link to gray one, it is the one shown in the ad

It shows all the colors behind the gray and it reads "order colors instore or online for fast and FREE delivery"

So all colors should be eligible

do you have to buy the $30 off coupon?

bmobrien said: do you have to buy the $30 off coupon?

I would think so unless you have one. I saw them for $1.85 on ejunkie and $3 on eBay.

You also might be able to beg one in the online coupon forum.

The gift card offer does not start till 10/11. Are you from the future?

The ad says any camera purchase with regular price of 149 or more. Do u think its applicable if we use $30 off coupon??

Yes, it would still be $149.99 after coupon. Plus it says regular price anyway. Regular price is $199.99.

He means he got his coupon for cheap. My guess is the coupons are going to start to get scarce in the next day or so.

I haven't tried it, but can we use this deal to get $25 off $75 and save ourselves some trouble?

i meant coupon...hence why i quoted the guy who told me where to get it...

Even if you don't have a $30 coupon, this is still a good price after the gift card. Newegg has the light grey Canon SD1200 for $164 after $15 off coupon "EMCMLLX37". I ordered cameras from Newegg twice and they shipped me the camera that was made in China. I ended up returning them twice.

great price, great camera. Ive bought 3 of these in the past couple months (for gifts)

My last one from Staples was made in china. Have you ever gotten a sd1200is that was made somewhere else?

Is there any thing wrong with Canon cameras that are made in China?

While 99% of everything we use are made in china, I figured out you're living in the jungle? Didn't know Newegg ships to jungle

The only thing I could find is the 1200IS is made in China and the 1100 is made in Japan at least it was at one time. Maybe people expected the 1200IS to be made in Japan too? Not sure, but it looks like all of them are made in China. Along with almost every other camera and most electronics. Try to find a motherboard made somewhere besides china or Taiwan.

when does this go live online.

Hello,

I don't see the $50 gift card? Where does it say that i comes with $50 GC.

Thanks.

Not quite all colors. Just dark gray, pink and blue. They also make these in light gray, orange and green, but my guess is they don't sell those colors at Staples.

It's a personal choice and I prefer quality over quantity. The cameras exported from China feel like they're are made up of cheap plastic, not to mention that toys exported from China contain lead poisoning hazards.

I think Newegg will blacklist your account if you keep returning staff without having a valid excuse.

I guess you will never use a computer again then since the motherboards are all made in China/Taiwan. So sorry to lose you as a member, maybe you can watch TV... oh wait, those circuit boards are mostly made in China too.

I returned their secretary just last week. I got blacklisted but it was definitely worth it!

Oh good grief. Ok all colors that Staples sells are probably available under this deal.

Does the gift cards have the expiration day like the reward checks ?

I did overclock her but then she became unstable and ran too hot. I got tired of having to reboot her over and over.

Woah, didn't mean it as a criticism by any means. I just wanted to clarify for anyone looking at this deal, especially since the ad also says available in Pink and Blue. I appreciate you posting this and I'll probably be one of those that will be jumping on this on Sunday.

No problem, sorry to be snippy, Newegg's secretary wore me out.

Can we use the gift card like the REAL CHECK? Reward check is used as a coupon. I am not able to combine too many coupons.

next week, next week

Folks, I am NOT trying crap this thread or give negative thoughts. Yes, I know tons of toys/gadgets are made in China and I don't have anything against them. If you're happy with the camera or any toy exported from China, then by all means celebrate. On the other hand, it'd be you to blame on if the toy gave you troubles. Like I said, it's the personal choice. I am sure you would think about buying the car twice if it was made in China. Enough said and move on.

Haha. You're not trying to crap this thread, but that's what you're doing. People like to make fun when others make comments that don't really make sense. Doing something as neurotic as returning TWO cameras because they were both made in China really doesn't make any sense. Where did you expect them to be made? It's actually pretty funny that you would do that.

Sure there are things made in China that are horrible quality, but there are high quality items coming out as well. I'm sure EVERYONE is having problems with their Ipods right now because they're all made in China. Man, I should've returned my iPhone as soon as I found that out. I didn't, so I guess I'm the only one to blame if I have troubles with it.

Get ready for tomorrow

Anyone know what the Staples rebate offer number is for the Gift Cards and if there is any limit per household? I was planning to buy a bunch as XMAS Gifts. For those of you who have not realized, the gift card comes in the mail not at the store. You have to file an EASY rebate to get the Gift Card.

Call me picky, but the Kodak v1073 I got last year on a hot deal (~$80) was 12mp and shot 720p video. I realize Canon is probably going to last longer (notice I refer to the Kodak in past tense) and will probably have better image quality, but the lack of HD kills it for me. Still a great deal if video is not important to you, thanks OP!
