It is a good price & it does good in warm water on white items but if you wash bright color clothing it will definitely bleach out the colors.

That's been my experience with detergents. I have a box of tide for my darks & vivids, and a box of gain for my lights & blands (though Gain is still high end compared to many others I've tried).

I have found it's so not worth buying uber cheap detergents unless I'm washing permastained, faded, torn rags. Thankfully with $2 polos and $10 slacks from FW, that's not the case.

A&H: doesn't clean well, clothes don't smell very clean
Kirkland: fades & wears clothes out, doesn't clean or disolve well
Tide: works great, too expensive for cheaper half of my closet though
Gain: smells good, cleans well, a little more rough on the clothes than the Tide
Purex: fine for washing dishrags & similar whites with bleach added and 50% more than the cup measures, nothing else

I've tried a great many others, being a frugal experimenter and all, but I don't recall the results of the rest other than "not good enough" to stick with. Though I also have yet to move to a front loader/HE setup.
