Got this from target a month or two ago. Picture, etc. is fine.
Biggest problem I have with it is it doesn't seem to have a universal remote code, and does not come with a multi-function remote. Tried all the sylvania, funai and rca codes with my FIOS. YMMV, but if you don't have a learning remote you may need to use 2 remotes.

I've had some Panasonic codes work on some other "no-name" TVs in the past. Try them out. When you get bored some Saturday or Sunday afternoon just try all the different ones of other major manufacturers if you're that into it. That's how I discoverd the Panasonic ones that worked.

We got two recently when Target had them for $150.
This does not have a QAM tuner. According to Sylvania's website for this product & Sears own website, it has an ATSC tuner. QAM tuners allow you to receive unencrypted digital signals from a cable provider. Therefore this tv would not receive unencrypted digital signals through your cable provider and would require you to use either a converter box or your cable company's cable box to view digital channels.

I understand that neither the Sears or Sylvania sites indicate a QAM tuner. However, we purchased 2 of the Sylvania LC195SLXs from Target recently. Neither the Target site or the product box indicated the presence of a QAM tuner.
I can assure you that we are receiving over 50 unencrypted digital signals through our cable provider without using either a converter box or our cable company's cable box to view digital channels.

I've seen this question posted on multiple forums but I've *NEVER* seen anyone post a reply naming a TV without a QAM tuner. Just luck?
BTW, the one I bought a couple of months back at Target DOES!

CONTRAST is *CRAP* (1000:1 IIRC)
SPEAKERS sound like a table radio (small; no cabinet to speak of)
PRICE IS RIGHT!!! ($150)
*shrugs* wasn't intended to be a review of the TV :-P For what it is, I consider it fine.
It would appear that even though it is not in the specs, it has a QAM tuner. If I am not feeling too lazy later, I will verify that I can receive the few channels that FIOS sends unencrypted.

Verified that I can receive a steaming pile of worthless FIOS channels, FWIW.

I fix Xbox 360s and do computer work. I've been looking for a compact monitor to test the systems and also to lug around with me to verify working systems when buying used consoles off CL. This is perfect! I can have my cake and eat it! HDTV, computer monitor, and all the connections for the 360 that I need at a great price and small size. Thanks OP! Now, if only Sears would get their act together and actually have a working web page for this item so that I can use Bing to get it even cheaper.
I didn't think my q would illicit such response. I haven't bought a tv recently (haven't had to), so I didn't know that they all supposedly come with QAM tuner. I've always believed that if it isn't listed, then it probably doesn't have it, but you never know if you don't ask. So thank you everyone for answering my q and teaching me something new.
WDEagle: As I stated before, this tv does not have a QAM tuner. A QAM tuner allows you to receive DIGITAL broadcasts WITHOUT the use of a converter box or a cable company's DIGITAL coverter box. When you watch cable tv WITHOUT a cable BOX (a box that allow for digital broadcast), you are watching an ANALOG signal. There are a MULTITUDE of factual goverment websites as well as the FCC site which clearly explains this. Please educate yourself before replying on matters you obviously know nothing about.
Unlike the case with ATSC tuners there is no FCC requirement that QAM tuners be included in new television sets, as the ATSC standard calls for 8VSB modulation.
I just picked one up today for my daughters room at the B & M. Good deal for the price, and I hooked it up in her room without a cable box or a converter box and I am receiving both digital and analog with it. The model number is LC195SLX and the product page from Sylvania is below.

YES IT DOES. Using it right now. TV found 37 digital channels, some of which are HD. Get your fact right before posting...
