The Astro Audio System is a headset and mixamp combination that gives you 5.1 Dolby Headphone support from your Xbox 360, PS3,or computer. A Google search on this setup reveals that it is highly recommended and is rated as of the best headset solutions available. It is standard equipment for "professional gamers" and is endorsed by the MLG. Until now, the only available supplier has been the manufacturer (Astrogaming.com) for a cost of ~$265 shipped. Used units sell for ~$220 on eBay and on various forums, making this an incredible deal.

Not for me! Cheaper than a surround sound system and keeps the neighbors happy.

Be warned, there has been some question as to whether this comes with the mixamp or not, but according to Dell online chat customer service rep E&A_Sherwin it does come with the mixamp.

Highly recommended. My favorite feature is the ability to mix chat audio vs game audio.
