Menards has again a couple of items free after rebate. FAR items require that you buy $10 worth of any other stuff there and the rebate comes as an in-store check.
Until 10/25 there is
- 7 Piece Hex L Key Set - Smart Caulk(TM) Tool - Paint Brushes - 16' Tape Measure

A while back it used to be w/o this requirement, but they added that maybe around 2 years ago. They still advertise it as free in their fliers and I still like that a lot better than BOGO or where you have to get certain items. Typically there is something I would pick up there anyway like furnace filters or 2-cycle oil for the snowblower.

If you have a Menards with the grocery/pet store it is very easy to spend the $10 minimum. Buy a frozen pizza or two and some snacks or coffee. They have a decent selection of foods at very good prices. The Menards ads are one of the first I look at on Sunday morning. PLUS, if you browse the store on Saturday the new Sunday ad prices including the rebate items are up and in effect most of the time. I have about $45 in rebate checks in my truck that I have rolled over at least twice. Of course I do spend quite a bit on lumber and materials but this is the bonus! I am saving these for something special I want but am too cheap to spend new cash on.

That smart caulk tool is junk, I bought one yesterday and tried to use it on the windows. It wouldn't stay together. The tape measure is tool shop brand, it's decent for having around but I wouldn't use it as an everyday tape. I get them when they come up for free and keep one on each floor of my house, same goes with those 6-in-1 screwdrivers they have FAR too.

I agree the tape measure is the useful item this week. One of them started cracking though. But after getting them free I left one in the car for most of the time and my son could get one just for playing around. No worries if lost.
