Should be great for that. Reviews indicate it is very quiet, and uses the Intel G35 / ICH8 chipset which is capable of good 1080P. Lots more horsepower than the Atom based Intels that are in this price range.
The downsides:
- Some users have had HDisk destroying and freezing caused by overheating, their is a bios update that is supposed to help - no windows 7 free upgrade (according to some users) we do not know why. - not the newest chipset..so lacks some hardware 264 decompression support etc. This is very similar (but with a better hard disk) to the Lenovo Q700 I picked up last month new for $380....but the Lenovo has the newer 43 chipset, and the Windows 7 upgrade option,
But, for a normal user this would seem like a real nice choice for a mini home theater PC.
