Amazon has Standard versions of MW2(PS3/Xbox360/PC) available for pre-order for $59.99 + $20.00 dollar credit towards future video game purchase. Good alternative to WalMart if you don't want to pay tax, drive, or what the reason.
"Order Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and get $15 off a future video game purchase. The promotional code will be placed directly into your Amazon.com account within 2 business days after the product ships. Offer valid for a limited time and only when shipped and sold by Amazon.com. This offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders. Amazon reserves the right to change or terminate this promotion at any time. Limit one per household."
Awesome. I already have this preordered. I bet Amazon will drop the price a few bucks on release day too. Anyone who has it preordered will automatically have the difference credited back to them.

Amazon's description says "This offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders." So it appears to be OK. Same situation happened when I pre-ordered Uncharted 2 and my $5 bonus came in just fine (which I used on this offer ).

I always loved Amazon; with these new game deals (free shipping, no tax here in CA, future credits...) I am loving it even more!!!!
Hope this isn't a dumb question, but... Can you use you a Target gift card to get this deal thru Amazon? It looks like they don't offer the $15 credit when choosing "Target" as the seller, but are the gift cards interchangeable?

Target GiftCards are redeemable for merchandise at any Target store or at Target.com. They are available in select denominations at Target.com or in any denomination at a Target store.
You can purchase Target GiftCards at Amazon.com; however, please note that they are not redeemable at Amazon.com. If you are purchasing 10 or more GiftCards, please call (800) 5GIFTS5.
Target GiftCards are not returnable and cannot be used to pay a Target bill. To report a lost, stolen, or damaged GiftCard, call 1-800-544-2943. We can replace the remaining value on a lost, stolen, or damaged card with the original purchase receipt.
GiftCards are shipped using standard delivery and will arrive within seven to ten days of your order. There is a shipping and handling fee for each GiftCard ordered. To place an order for a Target GiftCard using rush delivery (four to five business days), please call (800) 544-2943 and select option 3. Target GiftCards cannot be purchased with Amazon.com gift certificates or promotional certificates.
Thanks Op! I almost jumped on the WalMart deal but decided to wait to see if Amazon would increase their promo. Hopefully Amazon drops the price $3 before release like they've done on a couple of my video game pre-orders in the past.

And right about....now.....is when you realize the PC version is $59.99! It is the first big PC game to test the 59.99 threshold, I am personally holding out until a pricedrop or deal on Steam. I have Modern Warfare on the 360 and World at War on the PC so those will tide me over.
Also, read yesterday that the PC version will not support mods or user made maps, and no dedicated server support! Nuts!

Maybe you're just not finding the right servers. This is a pretty big mistake for them to leave this out. Not just because people are going to boycott the game, but because the mod and clan circles are what fuel these games for years. There will always be cheaters, but with a little effort there are some really stellar servers out there that will not exist with the new MW2.

Got an email from Amazon.com today stating the $15 credit. Sweet.

I sure as hell won't be buying this game either, not after what Infinity Ward has done to the PC gamers. Signed the petition, too.

I pre-ordered MW2 from Amazon about 2 weeks ago using a $15 credit from my ODST pre-order (and Amazon credited me back $9 once ODST shipped since the price was adjusted). At the time I ordered MW2 there was no $15 offer. I just got an email stating that I will get the $15 credit as well. Pretty awesome - I love Amazon.
Just ordered on Amazon and as I was looking at the page, it switched to $20. I like price wars.

Ordered yesterday and got an email for $15 credit. Just 2 minutes ago, got another email saying I now have a $20 credit. Thank you WalMart for going to war with Amazon.
