Thanks alot. Saw this at Frys and only thought the $60 rebate was the only one. The extra 25 is icing on the cake. I have a Kaspersky 6 install disk. Does anyone know if this will qualify as an upgrade or is that version too old?

Be very careful with the upgrade rebate ($25). The $60 rebate specifically states that it cannot be combined with other offers. A FW member (Atilla) mentioned in the previous Kaspersky tread that he/she contacted myrebateonline.com about whether Kaspersky purchased from Frys is eligible for the two rebates and was told the following:
"Dear Customer, This email is in response to your inquiry or call to MyRebateOnline.com. The rebate form for offer 4000564 (I would assume that the same is true about the current offer as well) states that it is not combinable with any other offer. You will only qualify for one of the two rebates. Thank you for filing your rebate at MyRebateOnline.com.

What I would do is mail the $60 form first and let it get processed and show up as valid (or wait until just before the mailing deadline if they have not processed the first one yet). Then mail the $25. Worst case they reject that. What you don't want to happen is for the $25 to be accepted and the $60 to be rejected.
Wow, I ordered it 40 minutes ago. I guess I got lucky, for a change.

You are right, it is always stupid to contact the rebate company and ask them questions about a particular rebate offer in order to decide whether to buy a product or not. What do they know anyway?

What do they know anyway? It is stupid to ask them if you can combine an advertised and unadvertised rebate in order to make $25 on your purchase (what are they going to say???? Sure, please make money buying the product). It's not like there was any question that this was going to be free with the advertised $60 rebate.

$25MIR Valid 09/01/09-12/31/10(Upgrade; YMMV)I can't believe they screwed up the formatting on this form and it prints on two pages!
I wonder if it would confuse them if you used two-sided printing...
Thanks OP...my current K.I.S. 9.0 is expiring in a few months. I'd prefer an Amazon deal since there's no tax for me, but this will definately do if no Amazon deal shows up soon.

You must provide proof of previous ownership by enclosing ONE of the following in order to qualify for the rebate: Page 1 from a competitor’s manual or a previous version of Kaspersky’s manual or a photocopy of the install disk.
But what is "a photocopy of the install disk"? How?

Just photocopy the front of the install disk. DO NOT mail the original install disk.

Again, you are 100% correct. Most people always lie, and even if some don't, it is not unethical to submit a rebate which was not advertised trying to make money. Keep arguing your point, your replies complete me.
They were taking pre-orders for this yesterday but that switched over to unavailable after midnight. Hopefully they will change it back to pre-order once someone gets in at 9am PDT.

Yes, that's exactly what SDers were reporting on the previous Kaspersky deal. I tried to warn the FW users, but I guess the only thing they are capable of is arguing moot points and giving red.

That's odd. For the previous $60 Kaspersky I did back in August, both the $60MIR and $25MIR [Upgrade] were both approved. YMMV.

Dis is 1 of the reasons why the number of sd users is x10 more than the number of fw users.

How is that telling us that people actually had the higher priced rebate rejected? THAT would have been useful information.

1 - it was FW and not SD. Reading skills fail. 2 - we already know about your reasoning skills. Double fail. 3 - "How is that telling us that people actually had the higher priced rebate rejected?" - I didn't explicitly say that in the first post, and I am sorry that you were not able to figure it out by yourself.

NeoTheOne said: 3 - "How is that telling us that people actually had the higher priced rebate rejected?" - I didn't explicitly say that in the first post, and I am sorry that you were not able to figure it out by yourself. It was not obvious that it would happen because the rebate house is always going to tell you stuff like that. And then you submit it and it works. How about the Kaspersky deal recently where they had $25 and $35 rebates on a $50 item and everyone was so sure you would only get $50 and we ended up getting $60? What would the rebate rep have said in a case like that? I'll bet it was that you'd only get $50.
I guess some of us are just not as smart as you to automatically be able to deduce that it actually was rejected. Of course, that would have been much more useful information to share in the first place, rather than just reporting on what the rebate house person said in their email.

I made money on the above deal you mentioned. However I had to resubmit the upgrade rebate as they claimed they never received it. Also both rebates took over 6 months to receive. When dealing with Kaspersky make sure you cross all your T's and dot all your I's!

Can you guys take it to msn or something?
FAR is still a good deal on a great security software. Repped.

FAR is a good deal when you know its gonna be FAR. This deal is not without risks and it is always useful when members of the FW community point out these risks.

I don't think that you will have a lot of troubles getting the $60 rebate (unless you submit the upgrade rebate too. In that case, as many have already pointed out, good luck getting the $60 rebate).
By the way, I was referring to the 2 guys who kept attacking each other without actually discussing the deal.
vistauser said: By the way, I was referring to the 2 guys who kept attacking each other without actually discussing the deal.Given that the deal as posted includes the possibility of an extra $25, and that it turns out that some people actually had the larger rebate rejected, the discussion WAS relevant to the deal.
