Amazon is offering a $20 video game credit to those pre-ordering the Standard & Hardened editions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. A $10 gift card is also available to those looking to purchase the prestige edition.
Alternatively, WalMart is also offering a $20 gift card, and has the Standard and Hardened editions priced for $59.82 & $79.82, respectively. 2% FatCash available.
I am LOVING this little war that is going on between WalMart and Amazon. Great stuff! I'll be waiting for my e-mail from Amazon to arrive saying that they upped the $$$ off a future video game purchase to $20. Thanks for the post Op.
I ordered this off of the first thread. Does anyone know if you can use the giftcard to purchase an XBL card? I hope so, since I believe mine is expiring soon. $20 for a year of live would be sweet! And, maybe Amazon will match Costco when it's released as they always seem to have games a few bucks cheaper. We can dream, right?
I bought this several weeks ago with a 10% off ECA coupon, got the email yesterday about the $15 credit, so I'll look forward to getting my email now about the $20 credit being applied.

the Amazon GC is only good for future video game purchases whereas the WalMart GC is good for future purchase of anything?
I wish they would just drop the price of the game by $20

Things may look up for console deals, they may fall out of the wood works now that PC gamers are canceling pre orders and refusing to buy the game. Good look to all...I am one of the many PC gamers that will sit this game out.

BRING BACK OLD FW COMMUNITY FOR BF! Well, part of it is that there are two other thread on this already - one specifically about the WalMart deal and one specifically about the Amazon deal.

Yeah but none of those add up to even the same amount of #s. I LOVE Fat Wallet. Just wish it was restored to its glory days.

Doesn't WalMart charge both for shipping and sales tax?

We are writing to you today because you purchased a copy of either the Standard Edition or the Hardened Edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
We recently upgraded the promotional offer for the Standard Edition and Hardened Edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 from a $15 Video Game Store Credit to a $20 Video Game Store Credit. This credit will be automatically applied to your account within 2 business days after the item ships. We realize that many of our customers are huge Call of Duty fans, and we’re pleased to thank you for your business with this offer.

Actually WalMart is the better deal... They accept Bing CashBack and I saved $7.98 off the hardened edition which makes it cheaper than Amazon even with tax & shipping... Plus the WalMart gift card is not just good towards video games and they send it instantly instead of waiting until the game ships...

what?
What it boils down to is they are deciding to not put out a dedicated server release for the game. So that means no clan servers, no server side mods, no player mods, no player made maps. Basically What has made the FPS market for the umm past 12 years or whatever. So many PC gamers have canceled their orders and there is even an online petition out there.
I went with Amazon becuase you had a choice of day of release date and WalMart only had choices around November 16-18. Even store pick up showed later than release date

That's strange. I never got an email from Amazon about the credit. Did anyone else experience this?

my confimation doesn't show it. I'm guessing you get it when the product ships or later. People could rip them off buy pre-ordering, getting the credit, use it, then cancel the order.
The more I am thinking about this deal, I am reluctant to jump into it. On one hand you are being forced to buy another video game (Amazon credit) on the other you lose plenty with sales tax + shipping. I think this should be a Black friday deal for $39.99

Hmmm I've got a $25 best buy credit. Any chance of them matching this deal?
Coop1979 said: Remember that the Amazon price will probably drop by $7 or so on release day, making Amazon an even better deal. Yeah but then you will have to wait a few days to get it, unless you do the bait and switch.
Get a $20 Video Games Credit Order Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and get $20 off a future video game purchase. The promotional code will be placed directly into your Amazon.com account within 2 business days after the product ships. Offer valid for a limited time and only when shipped and sold by Amazon.com. Amazon reserves the right to change or terminate this promotion at any time. Limit one per household.
