Hmm, that's contrary to what the mixed reviews said...sorry if I'm wrong!
EDIT: Actually, technically I'm still right, along w/ the reviews. Most jump boxes have the cables built in. These seem to just include a set of jumper cables to attach. Will work the same, just pick your design preference...

i like this design (detachable cables) for the small footprint. the stand alone jumper cables can be used elsewhere if need be - say when your portable + car is dead, you're on a highway, the person that stops to help finds s(he) actually didn't have a jumper. what do you both do?
I've got an older model jump starter and I really like the built in automatic charger. As one reviewer said, it does not come with an AC cord to recharge it (would have been nice), so you have to find an AC cord with a female plug that will fit in the square cutout on the side. I had a round female plug at home so I made my own charging cord. Keep in mind that it will cost about $45 or less ($45 at the Shack now) when it comes time to replace the 12Ah sealed lead acid (SLA) battery inside. See the attached pics I found.
Edit: I want to clarify that the pics you see are the current model jump starter on sale today and tomorrow (and not my older model).

I used to have the Might Mite, very similar product. Loved it. Was great with camping. Use powersource to blow up air mattresses, keep phones charged, etc.

I might get this multimeter, making it $10 after discount.

I don't think that will work...the charger has to be picked up at a Sears Auto center and it is not letting me add any other items to the order. Weird since more auto centers are connected to the stores.

got 1 and the cables are attached just like other models
edit: they should have put in a led instead of a bulb
