Sometimes you can get them to match it by phone.

They are wiring my street as we speak. Any feedback as to how it works with TivoHD? Anyone from MA using a cablecard M with FIOS? I've read that they charge $3.99 per mo per cablecard.
Even if they say taxes are extra, there's NO WAY to pay $99 + taxes. You need a receiver (even a basic one) and that costs at least $5 a month. And taxes are a good 20%. Add an HD DVR and you end up at least over $135.
Match it to cable's 3x play, and you pay the same in the end no matter what. Still, much better than a la carte TV/Phone/Internet...
Hmm...if they offer this to existing customers, it might be worth it, as we pay something similar now with no phone. Of course, the $5 & $10 off a month are only for a year, and I'd have to bump it up to the 2nd tier, but it should still work out to be about the same as what I'm paying now.
Special Offer : NEW REDUCED PRICE! $89.99/mo. ($10 OFF of $99.99/mo.) for 1 year with annual agreement! PLUS, add one of the options below.
Get *$150 BACK, Or, an additional $20/mo. OFF for the first 6 months ($69.99/mo. for months 1-6; $89.99/mo. months 7-12). That’s like getting 3 services for the price of 2.
And, complete this order online to get an additional $5 OFF every month for 1 year.
This is for their Triple Freedom package with 15Mbps / 5Mbps.
Looks like a great deal. I'm not sure how it compares to my cablevision service which I also get HBO and Starz but I'm paying nearly $160 a month. Will see if they can do something for me else I might have to give verizon a try.

Actually, I pay $100.xx including taxes with FiOS triple play. I signed up about a year ago, when they were offering Free HD-DVR for a year, but only $75 gift card rebate.
I have the HDExtreme package (1 STD receiver, 1 HD-DVR receiver, 1 add-on receiver (no guide, no widgets, nothing extra, just TV) with 20/5 internet, and Verizon Freedom phone service. It comes out to $88.xx before taxes, then add $12 in taxes and fees, and the total is $100.xx
Pros: We love the TV signal quality and the HD channel line up. The internet is stupid fast... Phone is crystal clear...
Cons: Can't use DVR function in the HTPC. It would require updating the tuner card to CableCard capable receiver... With cable, you can DVR everything, but the premium channels, which we don't have anyways.

I am planning on giving them a call when my 1 year deal runs out. I am pretty sure they would rather keep a customer paying what he has been paying, rather than look for a new customer.

I wanted to do the bundle, but the hardware for 4 tvs was too high. I went with DSL Extreme, a FIOS reseller for $40/mo and the Dish TV deal for another $50 or so. And Pageplus for phone. I'll add ooma or skypeout or something if I need to, later.
Taco said: I do have two HD-DVRs though. You get soaked something like $12-$15 a month per box and DVR "service".If you don't like it, replace them with TiVo's and tell us how much money it saves (or costs) you. BTW the HD-DVR's are actually $16 each per month.
omarECD said: How much would taxes/fees come out to? If you go to their site and act like you are placing an order, they will show you the fees. Also, is there an installation fee?Installation is free unless you connect more than 3 TV's.

I have FIOS with two Tivos (HD and S3). It's $3.99 per cablecard, which is cheaper than any box you'd need from Verizon. It works great, assuming you're ok with not getting On Demand stuff.
I see they have reduced the price of the $99.99 plan to $89.99, at least in NY. I have an order in the system for December (when my $30/mo 3-for-2 discount ends) to switch to the Quad-play offer which will save me $15/mo. I may downgrade to the lower plan since I can live with 25/15 instead of 35/25 and just get Showtime separately. It should save me $5/mo or maybe more.

Why are all these bundles ether Internet+Phone or TV+Phone or all three? All I want is Internet+TV. I have 2 cell lines I dont need a landline or internet phone.
Best option is the HD Home Media DVR for $20 and then get a standard HD or SD receiver. Unless you need the extra capacity. But with the Home Media, all other receivers can record to and watch from it.

But with the Home Media, all other receivers can record to and watch from it.That's not quite correct. Other receivers can view but they cannot record or delete. You can logon to their website to do that, but it is not nearly as easy as using the remote, and it's not something you can let your family do unless you want to give them your Verizon password.
Also, the savings are not all that great vs 2 regular DVR's. You're talking $20 + $6 vs $16+16, so you are only saving $6.
We called and ordered the triple package and they said they will beat their own internet price, they gave us $10 off per month, plus free Showtime package. Easier to negotiate over the phone. FIOS is new in our area and they were here for about 4 hours setting everything up, mostly outside work installing a new box. Couldn't wait to cut the cord on comcast!

did you get the $150 Visa Card as well going this route?

it is indeed a "home media DVR" see OP link...it says it right on landing page.

It looks like Verizon discontinued their Refer-a-friend program at the same time as rolling out these new plans. Now it's called "Share the Network." Anyone know if it still offers $150 per referral, or does the program suck now?
EDIT: It's now $50 AMEX GC for the referrer and referral (rather than $150 bill credit that could be split between referrer and referral). Referral has to sign up online (didn't have to before) within 30 days (used to be 60 days), and has to maintain service for 60 days (instead of 30 days). Basically, the program is crappier now. If only I had done it yesterday, I'd still be under the old terms.

Not sure if the new Home media DVR is better, but the one I have only plays pictures, and maybe MP3s. It can't pull AVI files (most DIVX/XVID are saved as AVI). You'd still need an HTPC to do that.

I believe the home media DVR is the one which allows you to watch recorded shows on any tv in the house through a signal sent through the router from the main unit. Possibly on your PC as well. Not sure it's features, but pretty sure this is the one that acts as a DVR for all your Fios Connected sets.

I'm fairly sure it is not AVI's, but that would be nice (far more useful than photos, IMHO).

That stinks. I referred a bunch of people. It does look like myfiosguy.com site is matching the offer though.

Their old refer-a-friend page says "Don't worry. We'll store honor the Refer-A-Friend referrals you submitted in this program prior to 10/28/09."
KeyBored said: The newer tv's don't need the digital adapter, but the channels come up like 123.49...hard to figure out the channels. You do have to watch your bill, we were promised free installation and then on our bill they charged us 3 monthly installments of $19.99 for installation. Tried to email verizon to get them taken off, but they told us only 3 free tv's installed for free, after that $19.99 per tv installation. I called and they took the charge off immediately. They told us the deal is up to 7 tv's installed for free, plus free HBO and Cinemax for three months.
I'll have to try it out with the newerish (2009 model) Flat screen TV we have.
Will DTV converter boxes do the same? I tried briefly, when I first got them in the mail, and it could not find any channels during the scan. Do I have to manually enter the frequency?
