In an apparent effort to drum up interest in the re-boot, Mechwarrior 4 with all expansion packs - stripped of all DRM - is being offered in a free download starting tonight at midnight PST.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but if you look at the url when you go to the MekTek site, it references AT1 in the path, which is a different project than the free MW4 release (I believe it is a MW2 remake). It could be that what is launching at midnight is a new version of AT1 and NOT the free MW4 project, which seems to be caught in the final stages of resolving copyright issues. I could be totally wrong though and maybe it is MW4. I guess we'll find out.

Yeah I'm not so sure about this. Assault Tech 1: Battletech is a remake of Mechwarrior 2. With the link that's what it looks likes its gonna be to me. If you got other info though, please do share.

OP, you should change the title to "Mechwarrior 2". Green for you anyways. Loved this game growing up.

If you are referring to MechWarrior4: Vengence, the specs on the box (in front of me) are:

Windows 95/98/ME/2000
64MB of RAM
300Mhz processor
775MB of disk space
8MB video card w/3D capabilities
Sound card

MechWarrior 2 ran on considerably less hardware.

I hope this is the release of the MW4 series! If not, oh well.
