FYI for those who are thinking of their Dr. Martens from the 90s (source) On 1 April 2003, under pressure from declining sales, the Dr. Martens company ceased all production in the United Kingdom,[1] with production moved to China and Thailand. With this change also came the end of the company's vegan-friendly non-leather products, which were produced since January, 2000. In 2007, the company began producing footwear again in England, in the Cobbs Lane Factory in Wollaston. These products, the "Vintage" line which the company advertises as being made to the original specs, can be purchased at the Dr. Martens USA website or the Dr. Martens UK website.I'm not sure if the Dr. Martens in OP are the "Vintage" line if that matters to you (which it prolly does if you're buying it for the Dr. Martens name).

I would doubt that they are vintage, but the new ones are still pretty nice. If you're buying for the name, then you're still buying Doc Martens shoes, regardless of whether they're vintage or not. And if you are buying for name only, then you deserve lesser quality, because there are better boots than Doc Martens out there, including Solovairs, who were making Doc Martens before Doc Martens were making Doc Martens (and I'm not positive, but Solovair may make the vintage line for Doc Martens today, as well.)
FYI - Don't walk with the spongy soft rubber sole on ice. You will have no traction, it is terrible. If you are in a area not prone to ice then no worries as it acutally feels good, like having a soft insole. I have to put the pair I have away every winter becase the traction is not there.
I didn't even know these shoes still existed! Wow! I wore these in Middle School..they were the thing to have..now they kinda seem like the "no fear" stuff! LOL

The Doc Martens made in China are truly awful quality. I bought a pair last year and sent them back immediately. Total garbage.
it's not letting me add anything to my shopping bag. It says it is in stock and ready to ship, I click on the "add to shopping bag" and it takes me to an empty bag. not happy.
