Yep DD-WRT Compatible

Buffalo WHR-G300N

No gigabit lan. I don't see the point of having 300mbps wireless if your lan is 100mbps.

Should be useful as an access point, rather than as a router.

Buffalo's version of the product with giga lan for $91: Giga Lan Their giga lan version should also provide better wireless service (3x3 radio.)

the point is to improve wireless streaming quality.

also as compared to just wireless g, to actually utilize that 100mbps on your wlan

any version which has a 1Gbps LAN points???

Not Broadcom based. DD-WRT support is limited (no WDS bridging, etc.)

Not a good deal.

I've been happy with this router with DD-WRT myself. I don't use some of the more advanced features but I like the bandwidth monitoring and other basic features of DD-WRT that do work with this router. For $35 I think it's a great deal myself.

Antenna mod - supposedly improves the signal 20-40%. Decent deal if you need a router, but how many routers do you need at one time?

It's 300Mbps that gets shared by all wireless clients. On the LAN, each computer gets more or less 100Mbps dedicated.

Of course, all of the above bandwidth numbers are theoretical bandwidths, with the wireless bandwidth being much more theoretical than the wired bandwidth.
