http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/962501?highlight_key=y...Yes! I have both. The samsung is a bit faster, and I like the samsung better. Is it worth even $1 more to get the samsung though? No, it's not THAT much better! I'd give both drives 5 stars, but if they were the same exact price, I'd get the samsung.
Don't buy this brand. I bought one a year ago. It has some problems already. Each time the gate won't open until you press it for about 30 times. Nevertheless my friend has the same problem, too. My wife's computer is using a Samsung which bought three years ago. No problem at all.

If so then mine has the same problem! Nevertheless I have used dozens of Lite-On DVDRW drives and never had that problem except for that one drive. Lite-On makes great drives in general.
edit: Just did a firmware update on the drive. I was using v3 and it updated to v9.

Just a head's up: Don't buy an LG SATA drive if you run WIN7. Mine works on every machine flawlessly, but not in WIN7. Other owners have posted similar experiences.

the same thing happened to my last Lite-On drive (mechanical problem, won't open and won't close until after many tries.) but then the same thing happened to my benQ drive. i guess the gears and pulleys are all plastic and will wear down.

It has worked for me from day 1. I have had over 100 purchases doing this without a problem. Bing has been deposited in my checking out for each of those purchases (with coupon code). Also, Bing works on pre-coupon price.
zacksmith said: Whatever happened to the good olde days when they included 2 faceplates. Whats the chance there will also be a white or beige in the box??Zero. It's a bulk drive. You will get the drive with black face and that's it.

thanks Lots of times you get two faceplates when you buy a retail boxed drive though.

For you guys with trouble ejecting your trays, here's the fix. Steps 5-8 are the only ones really necessary. CD ejection fix
