when i clicked on the the link, Amazon simply charges $100 for the giftcard and then subtract it at the checkout, which doesn't do anything (if my math is correct)... is that why people are giving it red?

How does it not do anything if you get to keep the giftcard

Out of stock at Amazon. I took advantage of this deal and am typing this post on my new UL-80vt. The gift certificate was shipped in a seperate box. Also got the win7 upgrade disc for 50% off. Good deal.
Its a 1.3ghz ULV Core 2 Duo overclocked by Asus to 1.7. It's much faster than an Atom.

It has a DVD-RW to the member who said it has a DVD player
Asus UL20A-A1 is back in stock, and the deal is still going until December 18th. I had ordered a Lenovo U150 with their discounted prices at Thanksgiving, but it has repeatedly been delayed. Since Amazon has the UL20A-A1 back in stock with the $75 GC, I ordered one and cancelled my Lenovo order.

Appears to have expired before the Dec 18th promotion end date. Must have 'ran out of stock.'
