Hi Everyone,

I bit on the National Geographic for 10.00, after buying it I looked at Popular Mechanics at the bottom of the page and it was listed as 10.00 - I added it to my cart - it showed two 5.00 discounts - FREE

I have received a confirmation. ENJOY...

You think you can add a link ?

So.. the total was 15$? (Meaning Nat Geographic for 15$ and Pop Mec for Free?)... So, that's just 5$ per magazine, nothing special, or am I missing something?

No go for me, you must have had a $5.00 credit or something. Mine is showing $10 - $5 coupon = $5

Showing up as $5 after discounts for me. Unless you're saying that I need to buy National Geographic first to get it for free? It wouldn't really be free then, right?

Tried to reproduce and I cant get it to show two discounts. OP did you just confuse the $5 discount on both of your magazines to be only applied to the popular mechanics mag?

Add 2 magazines, you get 10$ off total order, add 3, you get 15$ off total order..

I bought the National Geographic and checked out for 10.00.

After I was done I looked at the Popular Mechanics and it had a 5.00 discount for today. I put it in my NEW cart thinking it was 5.00 I proceeded to checkout and it came up double discounted. I have received a confirmation for 0.00

I'm only getting 1 $5 discount in my cart.

You can give me RED - I'm just trying to post my experience - sorry if it was just a "one off" I thought it might be worth a shot.
It posted the total of 0.00 after I typed in my password to go to checkout. (see receipt above) Sorry if it doesn't work for you. It did for me. (or why would I bother?)

The second discount is a credit you had on your account for some reason or another.

I'm looking at the same checkout total on mine and I know I have a $5 credit on my account.

Thanks OP. Discount worked for me! Nothing like getting magazines for free.

Glad it worked - I guess I'm not crazy... take care.

Green for posting! Kinda like A for effort. On the fence on this one. A year of PopMech for $5....hmmmmmmmm

anyone here got this to work or is it dead?

I paid 12$ for mine and I really like it , short articles to read in the john ..beats the old readers digest....

i mean how you get popular mechanics fore free after buying national geo.

I followed the link above and it worked like a charm. I only bought the one magazine, Pop Mech, and it gave me two $5.00 credits on the final checkout page. Thanks OP!

are you sure the second $5 was not from your gift card balance?

Worked for me! I just added it to my cart and sure enough, I saw two $5 discounts.

Only $5 off for me...

Thanks. $5 plus tax for me but guess it's worth $5.

$5 for me too, no go...have so many different subscriptions as it is that I need to set up my own recycling program.

seems like the $5 promo only applies to 1 year subscriptions. I can't get it to work w/ multiple year subscriptions. JUst an FYI.

For whatever reason, I also showed 2x$5 credits, making the 1 year sub free. Thanks!

(I used the link the OP gave a few posts down from the 1st)

no go for me

National Geographic for $15 is a great deal, and if you can get another $5 off, it is very hot! I just paid $15 a few weeks ago. So I tried the Pop Mech only - only $5 off, not free.

works for me. just do this:

1) add pop mech to cart
2) add national geographic to cart
3) delete national geographic from cart
4) checkout

It will apply 2 discounts and show pop mech for $0

No worky for me.

Of course I gave it red. The title is totally misleading.

No getting it to work for free, but $5 is a good price for the magazine.

Hey! You guys need to stop making fun of this guy. I just went in, ordered Popular Mechanics (no national geographic) and got it for free. No idea why, probably a mistake, but I have a kid that likes that kind of stuff and worth the chance....

Worked for me. Thanks OP!

Ordered NG first.
Then added PM and it showed with 2 $5 discounts at the checkout. $0 for 1 year

No go for me either, even cleaned out my cart and added in NG first and then added in Popular Mechanics and deleted NG and same, still $5. Good luck on the ones that got in!

I must have the "credit" as well. Worked for me.

Thanx OP

Yeah, not working here either. I can see the two discounts when both were in the cart, but once I removed NatGeo, then its $5 discount disappeared. Weird glitch.

I just did it. I was ready to renew my NG anyhow, so I did that first (GREAT deal at $10!). Then I placed a second order for PM and that one came up as $0.0.

Many thanks OP... BIG GREEN for you.

EDIT: Confirmation e-mails received for both orders.
