lorenzolama said:not sure how this works: Genuine Windows® 7 Professional Bonus-Windows XP Professional downgrade [Included in Price]. You get XP with the option to upgrade to Win 7 pro?
It means that Windows XP is installed on the computer, but the license certificate sticker is for Windows 7. This is because Microsoft dictated that XP is only available as an "UP/DOWN-GRADE", not a standalone option.

agreed. I saw this earlier today, and just couldn't consider this hot.May be HOT for light users. Email, Obits, board games, light internet use. Not all people are power-users. In fact, I'd bet there are as many, if not more light users than power users.

Then I'd counter that you are overpaying. emachines package from newegg for 329 This PC package will accomplish all what you listed with better peripheral specs (HD, Memory, cd burner) with a smaller monitor and lesser cpu but for almost 100 bucks less.
Dell puts people like me out of business!!!!!!!!!!!!
Every client of mine asks me, "Which Dell should I go for?" instead of "What can you build me for an affordable price"... If I was to sell a deal like this to a client, I'd be lucky to make $1... hell to be honest, I'd be LOSING money.

Yeah but you get a lame duck amd processor, and get stuck with vista (which is horrible if you haven't tried it) on that pc you suggested. I'd think the windows 7/xp option on this deal would justify the extra $100 alone...
