Limited time? Will they raise the price later if I sign up now?

Calling area: local

Not such great reviews on the company review

Cricket is great for folks that don't travel much. They do not up your price the limited time is the signup. Before bashing them compare what unlimited talk and text cost on their competators.

Not even offered in Mn.

Does anyone have this already? Good for a 'tween who mostly texts his friends from school? Is the service consistent? Thanks!

Really depends on where you live. Cricket only has coverage in certain cities, with free roaming in certain other cities (on some plans) and nationwide pay roaming. If you have a MetroPCS in your town, it's the same business model.

Looking at the plan details, looks like unlimited nationwide long distance is an extra $5 (otherwise a per minute charge for long distance calls). No Voicemail, 3-way or Call Waiting service is included (again, that's a $5 add-on.)

You get free roaming in "Nationwide Service" areas but for "Premium Service" areas, roaming is an extra $5 a month. And Roaming service is $0.59 a minute.

No longer available, or at least not in my area. When I enter the zip code, the plans that it shows me begin from $30, which doesn't include text, and a special $35 plan that includes unlimited talk and text.

In the VA/DC area this service stinks! The "local area" is so limited, it's only good if you never leave home. Page Plus rules!

$25 Still shows active in PHX... Wife has had cricket for years.. Service is good for voice / text. Good deal for a tween.. You can flash most Sprint/Alltel/Verizon phones to work with them.

I believe they also have a few buck tax each month on the bill, and late or reinstatement fees.
