$29.99 -25 mail in rebate ======== $4.99 after rebate $3 tax added on because paying about 10% tax on $30 = $3 ====== $8 approximate price for 8 GB Flash Drive by Patriot
As a comparison, the 8GB flash drives of various brands normally sell for about $15 at the cheapest price levels, so a decent deal if you don't mind the MIR hassle.
Did not forget. I made no mention as to shipping one way or the other. Sounds like a personal problem to me. It goes without saying that most items when shipped would add a shipping charge.
If you are ordering other items, you can throw this one in. If you pick up in store, there is no shipping, only tax.

Since you are posting the deal then you should mention. Fry's does offer free shipping on some items. So it is a factor for a good majority of people on this site, esp those who don't live in CA or TX which is a good portion of the populace.

Once you will open rebate form you will see that it shows only $5
It may help some to know that "In Store pick-up" is really just an inventory feature. You cannot have an item on the fry's site shipped to a particular store location for your convenience.
Even if there isn't a store near you, sales tax is applied to orders shipped to (and picked up in, obviously) AZ, CA, GA, IN, IL, OH, TN, TX , NV, and WA.
Once again, even though the product page at Frys.com says it is $25 rebate for a purchase price of $5, the actual PDF linked from that page plainly says the rebates for all products listed is $5 without this special condition of the ones purchased between 11/6 to 11/30. (the form says 10/30 to 11/30)
So if there is a different rebate, Frys screwed up but there is this page from Patriot where you can try to request one: (could not find it obviously)

adding "PLUS SHIPPING" the title is not a personal problem. It is good posting, accurate policy.
And, reading the rebate form to verify the terms first avoids misinformation.

I think it's a mistake by Frys. Called Patriot and was told the rebate is only $5.00. Called Frys but got disconnected. The page for the flash drive is gone. I will return the product.

I posted this deal early Friday on SD and got reamed...had to ask mods to remove the thread!!
One thing to note on Fry's rebates. The dates they post (e.g. 11/6 - 11/30) are not always what the rebate shows. In this case, 11/6 is the day Fry's added the rebate to their site/database, even though the rebate started 11/1 - this is because their sales run Friday-Thursday. This happens a lot! Other sites are guilty of this practice too (TD for one).

Buyer beware.
Thanks for the heads-up though
Read where? My personal experience is quite the opposite - both Frys corporate CS and B&M management are EXCELLENT about making good on rebates. While some of their VENDORS are shady, the B&M will issue refunds, and in some cases, the the rebate eventually comes thorugh as well.

They -- or at least one of their rebate processors -- were in the news a couple of years ago for having thrown 1300 rebate forms in a dumpster. I've never had a problem with them. That report generated a lot of bad press at the time, but I suspect it was a one-off thing that can, and likely does, happen anywhere.
That's a different product # with only $5 rebate. Still, it seems the deal for 5669111 has been pulled and is a NO GO. Sorry about the deal not working out.

Like I said, some of their rebate promotions are FULFILLED by slow or no payers, but Frys consistently makes good - from personal experience, and those I have read here, and in the former rebate tracking thread (RIP). In fact, when the fulfillment houses are very late, I often get paid twice - once by Frys, and eventually by the vendor.

From my experiences, if you fill out the form correctly, Frys is always honor the rebate after processing period (typically 8-10 weeks). They either call the rebate processor on behalf of you or even cut you a Frys' check. So don't worry when you buy stuffs with rebate at Frys.
I called Frys.com customer service today about the $25 rebate and they said it was a mistake and that there is only the $5 rebate on this item. They refused to honor the $25 rebate or give me a $20 credit. My only options were to send in the $5 rebate or return the product. Back it goes. Frys has always been willing to honor rebate mistakes but not this time.
