These "new" WD Passport drives use the USB micro connector. WD used to use the USB mini connector. I am not sure why they switched. Just FYI in case you do a lot of drive swapping while leaving cables attached.

I think for the price, you might as well go w/ 500 MB capacity. They're going for ~90-100 now.

are there any such portable external drives with warranty of 5 years or more (the drive mentioned by OP has 3 yrs warranty per Dell).
