Amazon One Day Electronic sale Nov 7 6am PST
No details just a banner in laptops section

Oooh. This could be Amazon competing with Wal-Mart after all.

I remember the 1 day computer parts sale they had a few months ago. A total bust and we all got a good laugh at it on here.

Wonder if the Kindle will go on sale!!??

Looks like they're matching Wal*mart:

"Buy an Xbox 360 Arcade and Get a $100 Amazon.com Promotional Code" starting 6AM PST.

http://www.Amazon.com/gp/goldbox

Yea they are matching everything that WalMart is offering

Note that they are also offering it at 12pm PST (3pm EST)

Rather do this than deal with the WM deal- no tax, prime shipping, get to go back to sleep.

Agree, no line, no tax... now do I want an X360 arcade?

Trying to check the BB website to see what they have, but it's incredibly slow right now.

lol
yea
do I want a Xbox 360 just for games?

I know this is going to happen. Sorry for those campers in such cold weather outside WalMart last night

wow 63% in 2 minutes

...and sold out.

All the 6am (PST) Xboxs went in <5 mins.

Thanks OP very good deal was able to snag one before they sold out, I liked this deal over Walmarts no tax and no standing in line. Also the $100.00 gift card is good for any item sold at Amazon.

thanks op, was considering waiting in line but this beats that for sure. Snapped one up as well, but I think you must use the $100 code within 7 days...

Check your receipt. If your invoice did not say LIGHTNING DEAL -0.01 making your total $199.98, then most likely you won't get the $100 promotional GC. Better cancel and wait for 3pm EST.

mine did, it showed :
Subtotal of Items: $199.99
Shipping & Handling: $9.48
Super Saver Discount: -$9.48

I have one in my box that I snagged and haven't paid for yet. I wonder how long it'll sit in there before it goes bye bye?

will expire at 11:59pm PST on 12/31/2009. The promotional code will not be reflected at checkout when you purchase the Xbox 360 Arcade; instead, it will be sent via email (along with instructions for use) seven (7) business days after the qualifying order has shipped.

I added one when it was at about 60% redeemed but I did not get the LIGHTNING DEAL -0.01 on my receipt when i checked out - final price was $199.99 not .98. I am thinking I missed the deal so I sent them an email to find out. I'll cancel if I didn't make it.

I don't see the 199.98 but see the price as 199.99 on my receipt. I thought I did go through my gold box. Have you already received the gift card in your email?

update - called customer svc and they stated that since i purchased w/in "time frame" I will be eligible to receive gc but when i asked them to send me confirmation of this, they gave me Xbox "promotions" (800-469-9269) area number to get confirmation of gc which really doesn't make sense to me (i told them this as well). Well I called Xbox anyway and they knew nothing about this. Go figure. So I'm thinking that I didn't get in on the Lightning Deal as well and will probably cancel my order. I emailed Amazon and will see what they say, at least it'll be in writing.

Where is Dell.com ?? They should be attend the early BF race Actually I wait more aggressive deals for PS3, Wii and others from Dell.
W`ll see

I don't get it. I click on the "One Day Electronic sale" icon but just get to the Gold Box page. So where are the electronics that are supposed to be on sale???

You have got to be kidding...

No, I'm not kidding. What am I missing?

so the 8AM PST "discount" was $7 off a Sony DVD player? SEVEN BUCKS?

today's electronics deals=today's gold box deals

OIC. That's not what I expected.

Someone here said that this beats going to WalMart. But with this deal I have to wait and hope that Amazon features something I'm looking for. Not quite the same thing.

All of these early deals IMO indicates there will be similar non-BF deals in the next couple of weeks ... which is good AND bad for my wallet. I got the WM xbox deal bcs I figured the Amazon gold box thingy would be voer in a few minutes .. which it was. Plus, I like local return if there's a problem. Just IMO.

From an email I received from customer service.

I'm new to the lightning deals and have a question. Do you get the lightning deal if you click the purchase button as soon as it becomes available in the gold box or is it only locked-in when you complete your billing info and submit?

I think I missed the xbox deal just now even though I clicked on the gold box purchase button the second it became available ... receipt shows $199.99. Guessing I didn't go thru the check-out process quick enough but not sure

I think you didn't get it, same story here. It should show lighting deal -$0.01 on your order summary. If you didn't see it, you miss it.

Wow, so it must be a race to the final check-out stage. Bummer.

Looks like some clarification may be coming... kudos to Amazon for at the very least removing the shroud of doubt and confusion that is hanging over hundreds, if not thousands, of orders. Major kudos if they're expanding the scope beyond the original allotment.

I clicked through the lightning deal offer as soon as it popped up and zipped through ordering - showed as $199.98 in my cart, showed as $199.99 on my order confirmation - which is stamped 12:01.

I just received an email informing me that "your order qualified you for a special promotion we were running that entitles you to a $100 promotional code valid towards a future purchase from Amazon.com" and that it will be sent via e-mail 7 business days after the order ships.
