or

search on Bing.com as Sony bestbuy shown right side 5% CashBack

--Thanks lordofseller

or search lcd in bing and there you will get link on the right with Bestbuy CashBack.

link doesnt work. What are the specs of this laptop?

Nice specs, especially being able to expand the ram to 8GB. If I wasn't in Christmas Savings Mode(tm) I'd be in for one.

I'm between this and a comparable Asus U50A-RBBML05 for $630. Just can't seem to pull the trigger on either... probably because I'd really like it to be a bit bigger display wise. Argh. Good deal though.

This was the model my wife liked best when we went window shopping. Anyone have any comments on this model?
Thanks

It`s a great deal for Sony vaio
How do you find 5% bing CashBack? I couldn`t find any CashBack for bestbuy??

" Go to bing and put TIGER DIRECT LCD you will then see the 5% CashBack at bestbuy"

edit---the bestbuy store is not showing up under search results but this was working few hours ago...

I've been checking this computer out for a week now. The in store version is silver, and if this one that was on sale wasn't white, I would be in 100%.

search on Bing.com as Sony bestbuy shown right side 5% CashBack

Good deal on a solid machine. I'm in the market too. Holding out for a laptop with a better graphics card in the same price range.

I have the VGN-240F which is the same exact laptop except it does not have Blu-ray. This is a really good computer. It runs relatively cool. The thing about this one that I find better than most other laptops is that it has the isolated keyboard, which gives it a really good feel, and textured touchpad. Also, one of the cool things is it has a "WEB" button, which allows you to launch a browser (based on Firefox) without booting up Windows. When I use it, I'm on the internet in about 8 seconds.

Doesnt work for me because I dont see a dial up modem.

Is blue tooth really that important? I am so far behind on technology that I guess I am out of the loop.

But it does look like a decent deal on a Sony. So I will give ya green anyway.

I need a bluray player for an lg 47lh90 tv, and been debating over ps3 vs standalone player..interesting idea to pick up a nice second/third laptop and use it as my primary blu ray output to the big screen (47"), just want to verify that there is no problem with this idea? what is the video card issue?

CORRECTION: Spec sheet I just pulled on Sony's website states it is capable of displaying 1920x1080 through HDMI, so I guess Full HD is possible.

Awesome Deal! I am the freak that wants a 10-key though. Blue Ray and a HDMI port are almost impossible to find in this price range.

The screen resolution is: 1366 X 768 = max native of 720p
15.5" LCD widescreen display
With 1366 x 768 resolution brings life to your movies and games

It can display 1920 X 1080 but it will scale the signal.

$699 now, I wasnt succesfull at getting Bing to work either

jonesntn said: $699 now, I wasnt succesfull at getting Bing to work either

still $649 and did you try searching "lcd" in bing and then on right you get the BB CashBack link.

Sony versus Asus? Aren't they essentially the same company. I like the Sony branding better but if it was me I'd look for a third option. Asus stuff tends to break.

I use a PC Air card. Any idea if this laptop has PC card or express card ?

i63Aps said: I use a PC Air card. Any idea if this laptop has PC card or express card ?

PCMCIA Slots: 1 ExpressCard/34

Yeah its weird, It works for me if I just start at Bing. Sorry

Thanks for the info, that was useful. Is there any converter available for PC air card to express air card?

great price on the laptop but shipping for me is about $15

I pulled the trigger with paypal, and bing CashBack shows as 32.50 as pending in the account. still tossing to keep the order active or cancel, since I was thinking holiday sale is nearing, and maybe we will find better lower price.

any guess we will get below 597

The resolution of the laptop screen doesn't matter when you do HDMI out to a TV. It will not scale the image. The video on this is capable of full 1920 x 1080 resolution with no scaling involved.

this is eligible for trade-in program. got the info from slick deals:

http://sony.tradeups.com/Customers/12/AllPromotions.aspx

they are trading my current one for just 100 dollars.

Thanks OP. Needed a new laptop for the m-i-l

Ended up as 744.35 because of ship, tax, and recycle fee to CA.
-20 paypal
-32.5 bing

-100 for Sony Trade up program
591.85

i'm waiting for core i7 laptops to flood the market.. this will bring prices down significantly on core 2 duos - but then i'll probably want an i7 :\

Go to Bing.com, click on Shopping.
Searched for "Sony Notebook LCD" exactly
Now look for bestbuy.com deal on the sponsored links.

It was showing up a while back then disappeared. You might want to try this a couple of times, I think it shows up and disappears based on active Sponsor.

not working any more. But anyway thanks.
