Serta & Sears-o-Pedic mattress sets are deeply discounted at Sears (both online and in-store) from now until 11.21.

The sets are 50% off, which is similar to a sale Sears had on all mattress sets several weeks ago, but that sale was only on the actual mattress - not the set. Plus, all mattress sets over $499 (after the 50%) qualify for additional savings (10% off + instant savings).

As an example... a Serta Auburn queen mattress set is $607.49 during the sale - a total savings of $992.50 It's great! (I just bought one...)

Happy Shopping/Sleeping

Shipping is crazy on most of the decent priced items that I see. However, you can pay $20 and get a 'membership' for 60 days of unlimited free shipping.

Hmm.. Kuttypapa, I'll look through Sears' website and see if I can locate it. I just noticed the "mattress only" stuff. I bought mine in a Sears store, but the salesman told me I could've done it online...

My personal opinion is that you should never buy a mattress without laying on it anyway, which would make this an in-store buy.

ToHellwithUGA, that's an awesome insight. I'm new to posting on Fat Wallet, but I wouldn't have even thought to include shipping prices and deals that may be associated.

Thanks for the replies! I'm learning as I go. I do promise you that this deal exists. I bought mine on Saturday.

Welcome to FW. Keep posting deals as you find them. Don't get discouraged by negative comments which are inevitable here on FW . If I add up all the deals I have got through FW, my savings are in thousands of dollars. So watch and learn. Just make sure you do not get carried away by deals posted and keep buying stuff you don't need.

Here's the one I bought... http://www.Sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_08297433000P

Apparently the sets are not grouped online, but they are still both discounted.

Good luck!

Not to keep beating it in, but I just want to prove it... here is what it would look like if you bought the mattress I bought online.
$607.49 for the queen set. Also, it says that delivery would be about $65. I'd still call this a steal...

If you're going to drop $1000-$1500+ on a mattress, get yourself a Tempurpedic. Hands down the best mattress for 99% of the population. And unlike most mattresses that have a 5-10 year warranty, Tempurpedic has a 20 year so your mattress will last you twice as long as a "regular" one (making them pretty compelling value plays, if you look beyond the initial purchase price).

That's the thing... I didn't drop $1000-1500. I dropped $607 - quite a difference and Serta isn't a sub-standard brand at all. Mine has a 10 year warranty, but some of the others on sale were offered with a 20 year warranty.

What's so special about Tempurpedic? What's the difference between a Tempurpedic and other mattress? I am in the market for a mattress, and prefer a firm one. What are all these -pedic stuff?

I won't buy a mattress I can't flip.

twenty year warranty and how long of that warranty is prorated and at what point do they consider the natural wear and tear to be excessive. Temperpedcrap says you are responsible for shipping even in the full coverage period. After the full coverage period and you have to buy a new one at half the regular cost you could have had three great spring mattresses for the same price. I have never trusted mattress manufacturers and that means any of them.

It's always better to buy a mattress in the store because if you are going to get screwed you might as well be comfortable while it happens.

I got in this deal last year -- excellent Sealy Queen mattress and foundation. Delivery was at 8am and the mattress had a manufacture date of 2 days before delivery. Seems as though them manufacture them in Tucker, GA.

OH -- add this coupon: SEARS5OFF50 >> Exclusive Savings $5 off $50 or more

Can't beat another $5 off...

We need a mattress so I went to Sears during lunch and in store they show only the set price (online, it's mattress only) They did have a few sets in the $600 range and one was a nice plush/pillow top. Not flip-able but at $609 + 9.99% tax in CA it's a good deal. Will head back out there with my wife to try it out (and get the brand) The sales gal said the sale goes through 11/21 and they are special order so it takes about a week to get it.

btw, if you are shopping JCPenny's has a similar deal/price

50% off is Sears "regular price". I visited the store and was disappointed that the price was higher than Costco for the same set.
