Unbelievable price for the HF20. Even the $500 regular price is much lower than everywhere else. Guess Needless Markup doesn't know a thing or two about electronics. Overpriced rugs...now that's their expertise.

Go to Neiman Marcus's website and click on the HORCHOW icon at the bottom of the screen. It takes you to the Horchow website and the camera is there at the same price.
You could sell this on fleabay for more than the $500.
I pulled the trigger and ordered one. $413 was too good of a price to pass up. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. The fact that Horchow is a Neiman Marcus company gave me a little bit of reassurance -- even though the site did not have glowing reviews on e-opinions. (Although, it seemed like most of the complaints were targeted towards furniture delivery). PC Treasures is the vendor that the camcorder is actually being shipped from. They are based in Oxford, MI. Interestingly, they seem to be mostly into computer software. Since I had some questions regarding the vendor, I had a chat with a rep from Horchow. This is the transcript of the chat session:

Not the most confidence-inspiring communication but at least I've got it in writing from a company representative that the item is brand new. But why is some little software vendor in Michigan selling new Canon-brand camcorders at a large discount? Very odd. I'm in for one until I find a reason to cancel my order.
I think I might jump on this deal. My wife and I are looking to get a camcorder before our baby is born late Dec.

Got an email saying I will receive the item on 1/8/10!! what a shame. I promise you that they will never ship the item. 350 is way too low for this. I called to cancel my order because of the 1/8 date and the rep said that people have been ordering 10 and even 100 of this. I don't blame people trying to buy from here and then eBay them off... i doubt if ANYONE will actually get this though

I ordered two separately so that was kind of stupid but I didn't want to cancel the first one and then order the second. Both say "arrive by 11/23/09". Interestingly, this deal was posted on SD earlier but all the posts were deleted.
Weird - I couldn't find this product listing when I entered the horchow.com website directly. Tried to search for "Canon" "HF20" "Vixia" and "camcorder" and combination of search terms - nothing... From browsing the website, horchow.com doesn't look like they normally sell electronics.

I want to have a HF200 since August, now the price from Amazon is $515. I never thought the price of HF20 can be so low as it has a 32G internal memory. So I buy this item with no hesitate.
