The best deal I have ever seen on a 4670 Graphics card:

Lots of bang for the buck. The review comments about fan failures are a bit of a concern.

Yeah, I figure the 3 year warranty will cover any fan problem. I bought one to replace my aging 7900GS... which was something like $200 three+ years ago! It's more than twice as fast and direct X10 at a fraction of the cost. I used to game a lot. I've had a busy few years. I turned around, and $40 video cards are twice as good as what I'm running!

Green for OP. I was going to post this deal and you beat me to it.

Lowest price I've seen on an HD4670 so far....AR, of course.

I paid $67 two months ago for a Diamond HD4670 and thought that was a good deal!

Most of the comments about fan failures on 4670s seem to be directed towards the original ATI reference design, NOT the fan that's on this ASUS card. This one looks like an upgraded fan....at least it is compared to what I've got.

Two questions

1) does the fan support software fan control

2)Will this support dual DVI output with a standard dvi>hdmi adapter (meaning, can I just take the adapter I have and reverse it with an HDMI cable?)

4/5 eggs with only 4 reviews.

Great deal OP! Terrific price performance ratio.

Looking at building an matx AMD system, any idea how well this would go with a 785 matx mb?(most probably the ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO) Thanks.
Looks like a great deal OP, been waiting for a while for one.

Seems a good deal. Anyone know how's ASUS for rebates?

I have always received all of them. These do take the time mentioned on the form. For me the rebate has been in the form of a debit card.

Thanks, in for 1.

Newegg Spec sheet is stating "does not support cross-fire!"

Check it out:

NewEgg Specifications Sheet for the 4670

I would not recommend you jump on this card...give it some time and let more reviews come in...and perhaps consider waiting until Black Friday for a killer deal on a better card!

Yawn........it appears to be a so-so very luke warm deal....and I would say the Egg's deal on the 9600 GSO was much better...

I am very happy with the ASUS 9600 GSO which the Egg was selling for under $40 a few weeks ago. The reviews were [and still are] raving reviews for the ASUS 9600 GSO.

Final Note: Tom's Hardware places both these cards at the same level according to their hierarchy chart and most of the time they are very accurate in regards to performance [but not reliability, tech support, etc.]:

Asus website says:

"ATI CrossFireX™ Technology"

The card is clearly missing the CrossFire connectors...this will not CrossFire

In for one. Thanks OP!

I have the MSI 1GB version of this card and is a bit slower than my PNY 9500GT, but a good power saver on 2D mode and that's why choose the HD4670.
Check these charts for actual power consumption of graphics cards.

how is the performance comparing with the Nvidia 9600GSO?

This shows that these both are at the same level in hierarchy. I would guess these are equivalent.

i have an HIS 4670 in my HTPC and it can run most games at 1080p with high options at good framerates (no AA). also it can play 1080p HD movie rips through the GPU using MPC-HC. doesn't use much power either - a 400W PSU can handle this, a Phenom II and 5 hard drives no problem.

the new crossfire ready cards do not require an external connector. CrossFire mode is enabled via ATI’s Catalyst software and the cards communicate over the PCI Express bus.

never mind, this is not the 1GB card which supports crossfire. my misreading...

Wow, quite a lot of misinformation in a single thread:

1) The card DOES support crossfire. If you check the AMD/ATI crossfire sheet, the 46xx series use connector-less crossfire.
2) A Geforce 9500GT outperforming a HD4670? Something is wrong with system, no question. update your drivers. The 9500GT won't even put a fight even in the most nvidia friendly games.... I had both of them at one time, the HD4670 absolutely smashed the 9500T

Does this downclock when you are not in a game?, or does it run full speed all the time?

Downclock? If you mean, "Is it power efficient?"...the answer is yes.

You can overclock the thing using ATI's CCC utility or let the card do it's own thing (temp, fan, speed-wise).

When you're not running a 3D game, it's very power efficient and has good 2D performance.

I bought mine specifically for the HDTV and Blu-ray playback options. It's got excellent HD/SD picture quality numbers.

is this faster than an 8800gt?
