jumped on it cause of the tuner. I was looking to upgrade to some atsc clear qam and can not go wrong for 35 for hauppague (can't spell it to save my life. Not sure how TiVo is vs mc7
My Microsoft IR blaster does not work with Nero LiquidTV™ (in Windows Vista or Windows 7). Unfortunately, we cannot currently provide Nero LiquidTV™ support for Microsoft IR blasters in Windows Vista or Windows 7.

do you think media center can use this remote setup?

Also, the remote only works with the TiVo software and DOES NOT work on a normal TiVo unit.
All in all, a hugely flawed product that failed miserably.
Are you referring to QAM in LiquidTV or on a regular TiVo HD?
I have not been able to find anything definitive on LiquidTV with QAM on the included HD tuner USB stick - it may work or it may not.
The LiquidTV support info on the Nero site seems to indicate that clear QAM MAY work with LiquidTV.
As a worst case, I intend to get a SiliconDust HDHomeRun - which has its own QAM-ATSC mapping solution which will allow LiquidTV to "see" the mapped QAM stations on my FiOS TV as Philadelphia area ATSC digital broadcasts.

Wonder if I can switch the service, once its activated, to an actual TiVo stand alone unit? Anyone Know? Some people asked on the last LiquidTV deal, nobody was sure. At this price, it might be worth trying.

In for one. Perhaps the hardware alone is worth the $35.

Well... looking at the Nero support forum, I think that I can answer my own question... unfortunately, the answer appears to be "No". It looks like the BeyondTV app does not support Clear QAM - what I was seeing in the setup docs looks like support for digital cable via s-video input to the capture card.
Well.. I can use the Hauppauge card with Win7 Media Center for clear QAM (or another solution like BeyondTV)... and can still grap a HDHomeRun box for dual tuner clear QAM for local channel recording.
Thanks OP for $35.00 it seems to be worth a try. I've been wanting a tuner for the PC.

Is this supported by windows 7? I see from the site it says Windows Xp and Vista, but nothing about windows 7. Other places of the website mention an incompatibility with windows 7 products (not related to NERO liquid TV, but other apps)...does this mean it will work with windows 7?
Thanks OP, I just picked one up. I've been wanting a cheap tuner to play with. I think I'll skip the TiVo software and use Windows Media Center.
I haven't used Windows 7 Media Center with a tuner before. Does anyone know if there is any extra MS DRM on the recordings? Can I transfer the recorded show to another PC and playback or re-encode without limitations?

Got one, thanks OP. Been wanting to play around setting up a DVR on an old PC. Supposedly, the tuner card will work with Ubuntu. Might try getting a freebie like MythTV up and running.
Thanks OP, in 4 1. I am running a Vista MCE, but at this price I am willing to play with it. It's been a while since I've held a TiVo remote in my hands... Philips HDR 212 was my first TiVo - still have it in the garage...

If you have another TiVo in the house can you share shows between them like you could with a regular TiVo?

Thanks OP. I used ebates to get an extra 5% CashBack.
Question-- never had an external USB tuner before, so need to ask, apart from space, what more would this one offer if I already hooked a free ARTEC tuner (DTV transition cpn) to my PC (already has MCE & old analog tuner), set it manually to the correct channel and voila. Any differences in temrs of extras, quality, etc? TY
