You have probably seen the commercials for the auto hammer on TV.

I have advanced notice that http://www.sears.com will have the Craftsman Auto Hammer Online for $89.99 + S/H tomorrow only (Nov 11) and they have only 500 units available to sell. If you are interested, now is the time. The savings is only $10, but it is better then nothing.

Sears.com said:Special pricing for item 009-11818 limited to 500 units nationally. Offer valid on 11/11/2009 only. Savings seen in cart.

I am unsure, but you might be able to buy online and pick up at your local store.

I don't understand this tool. If your going to pull anyting other other then a trusty old hammer, use a power screw driver. They are much cheaper and screws are a hundred times better then nails.

Depends on the application, I wouldn't want screw heads on the sides of my new dining table holding the trim on, you would want finishing nails... Also, nails are better in roofing situations and framing houses.

Home Depot has the same tool built by Ryobi for $89 every day. I have not looked at these in store but I am fairly sure they are the same basic tool.

Homer Hammer (12.42kB)

Am I the only one that was disappointed that it didn't look like this?

The last time I bothered to read through the reviews, they were pretty miserable on this product. Buyer beware!

I seem to remember hearing about two iterations of this tool at Sears, iirc they changed the battery pack and discontinued the previous version. (And told people they'd have to buy the new one if their batteries failed.)

Wonder which generation this one is, and if they're planning to do the same.
