Looks like a great deal. Are there any recommendations for a new case?

Does anybody know if this is a refurb or is it new?

Under Specs it says "NEW"

This website is well known for sale refurb or open box by saying new.But now a days they tried to improve there customer service...good luck.

Seems like a good deal. I hate the idea of buying a new PC now without getting Win7, though.

It says: "Free Windows 7 upgrade."

I actually prefer getting a computer with Vista Premium because I can have a clean install of Windows 7 on the PC without all the bloatware.

purchased a USB WIFI receiver from them. It said NEW. But the receiver came in an open box. There was even no plastic wrap. The receiver works fine though...I highly doubt their products are Brand New, as they claimed. Buyers beware.

They buy lots of salvage/bankruptcy/etc equipment and resell it. No doubt some of it is new-in-box and fully functional. Some of it will be DOA or damaged or in damaged packaging. Your recourse will be to send it back to them at your cost or try to get the manufacturer to address it through the warranty.

Pretty expensive to ship a big computer like this if you get a lemon.

I wont buy anything from one of these guys that i'm not willing to throw away if its DOA. Anything that costs a lot I buy from companies who have a free return policy for DOA/defective/damaged stuff.

I bought a phone from them advertised as new-in-box. It wasnt new, but it was in the box. The lanyard hook was broken off and the case popped off if you squeezed the phone too hard. All they offered was for me to mail it back to them at my cost, which was almost as much as I paid for the phone.

Thing to do in that situation that egregious would be to do a chargeback, or at least threaten one. Stores tend to become a lot more cooperative.

I second that! As good customer service, they send me another two for replacement. Just shipped yesterday, I will let you know if these works?

That goes one of two ways. Either the amount is so small the credit card company eats it, or the vendor points to your agreement to their return terms. These guys make you check a box that says "Yes, I agree!".

Either way, its a hassle.

Good looking computer for the money. If you get one without problems its a good buy. Seems to me the quad core prices have started dropping into the ~$400 range since amd's are cheap and intel wants to push the i7. I'd bet you could buy a similar machine from someone with a better return/DOA policy than these guys in the next few weeks.

Seems like a great price for what you get. Its soo very tempting. Thanx for the post!

This is tempting but think I will stick with the HP Pavilion p6210f AMD Quad-Core Desktop - $450 @ Staples Deal.
45$ more but 1 Gig more ram. But a AMD not Intel. But I can drop it off at local Staples if I don't want to keep it.

Thanks for posting this deal.

never believe this website, bought a usb wireless card from them (seems cheap, around 10 bucks including PP). Got a broken heavy used one. Complained to them, got refund. Damn!!

expires in 40 minutes

I bought this yesterday evening but it still shows up as "Pending" in my Paypal history; Paypal says 1saleaday has not retrieved the payment yet.

It still shows up as "Awaiting Pickup" 3 days latter. It may be "sale a day" but it's "shipment a week".

I got a tracking number on mine today. Billing information recieved but its shipping from close to chicago so Im guessing I will have mine Wednesday.

This product is available at PC Connection for 399 with free shipping.

I am not sure what the feedback on PC Connection is. I am tempted to dive into this deal. Just a little vary pf the seller. Their ratings on resellerratings suck.

I bought this from 1SaleADay and received it on 19th. Seems new ... had all the peel off plastic on various parts of the box and the keyboard. The documentation is sparse though - only the Quick Reference fold out, the Warranty leaflet and an FCC statement about the keyboard (?). I would have liked a motherboard layout diagram, but no biggie as the case is very easy to open.
The system boots in 1 minute and shuts down in 25 seconds. I uninstalled McAfee - using the free AVG instead - and the Trial edition of Office. Also installed PCTools firewall. It has a lot of Acer games which I haven't used yet?
On the whole I like it - don't care for the 64 bit though it runs well.

Applying for the win 7 upgrade was a bit laughable ... Acer uses a third party vendor based in Australia. Their website is not well thought out at all. It tells you that the upgrade is free yet when you click on the Continue button an error pops up stating that you have to fill in credit card info. I had to call Acer support which is based in, you guessed it, India. It took a while before the support person understood my dilemma and when he did he had to put me on hold to find out what to do. Eventually it seemed like he connected me to someone in the USA and together we figured out that you do not click the Continue button but another button higher up the page (forget what it was called - it might have been Add To Cart).

After passing this hurdle, the next page asked for my complete details which I already filled out at the very beginning. The US support person who stayed with me on the phone agreed that I should not have to do that again. In the end we sorted it all out and I eventually got an email confirming that the Win 7 upgrade will be mailed out to me.

I'm not sure if I'll install it though because Vista Home Premium is running well.

It would be interesting to hear of other users experience with this Acer.
