Look, I went through all the hoops with this (Having seen it on Dealnews.com earlier).

I reg'd with Bnet. I did their download. I did the install. I reg'd the software. At no point did I see any mention of free (except that I had a 14 day free trial which is normal, typical, everyday to all).

At Bnet's site there is the OP's quoted text claiming that in 7 days you will reach nirvana. There is also a reference that the offer is sponsored by UPS at Bnet's site. The UPS link at Bnet goes nowhere. The software had no reference to UPS but for the zip file's name. I don't think this offer is currently what it claims to be. You would think a UPS logo or banner would at least show up during the install or some reference to a key being in your future in 7 days. Nope, nada. Maybe it was real at first and somebody pulled the plug, maybe there's a mix up somewhere, or better yet, maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think this will materialize. In the mean time, more crap in the old mail box and dll's & sheet on the hard drive.

Hope it works

sudo su - rmdir

I got it to work, but will have to wait 7 days.
Waaait a minute, 7 days, am I going to get a phone call threatening my life unless I 'chain-link' this application to someone else?

Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute.

What do you mean by you "got it to work" ?

My copy installed, but I don't think it's anything different from the run of the mill, typical 14 day trial version that Nitro makes freely available all the time. Did you see anything (other than mention at Bnet) that you will recieve a key or see any reference to UPS ?

at the bottom of the page it says "Format: Software | Date: Jan 2009". I doubt if this is still active..

says to use trial and code will be emailed w/in a week

link not working? or do you have to log in?

Yeah, at first my link did not work either. Did you sign in or register with BNET.
My link did not work at first, that is what I meant by 'got it to work'. I see the confusion now without my clarification.
I did NOT get a full blown app running.

it worked early this morning at home. but now i'm at work the page is different now. btw i didn't register. i think its dead now.

You can DL the TRIAL (if still available) and activate it (in 7 days, if the key comes).
The trial version has nothing to do with the deal. Its the issue of the key coming in 7 days that is the issue on this deal.

I installed the app in a Virtual PC just in case
Activate from Trial version screen grab

DL link didn't show for me until I registered.

i'm registered now, still no link?

all i get is bnet.com mobile from the link. same at dealnews site too. i even cleared my cookies.

FYI: Already got my confirmation for the full application.
EMAIL GRAB

That says 14 day trial.......

Oops, your right. I misread it for 2010.
Good catch...

I'm not as stpuid as I sound.

Does the trial need to be installed in order to get they key, or can we just DL the file and is the key sent automatically?

The name of the file says "32." Does that mean it doesn't work with 64 bit?

Why, yes, Bill. Yes I do.

Not even slightly complicated. Your code must be atrocious.

I'd settle for a text file "UPS thanks you. Have a nice day" wrapped up in the zip. In 7 days we shall see.

Hello everyone, in my experience using this program ...it's just not worth it ....I had it installed along with the extension for FireFox and everytime I tried to open a .pdf through FF it would freeze and I would have to kill firefox process and start all over again ....in my experience the best .pdf viewer is located at PortableApps.com called Sumatra...Go to the link below ....
http://portableapps.com/apps/office/sumatra_pdf_portable

Also, I have a FireFox extension called PDFescape Extension ..which is cool because it allows you to fill in sections of a pdf that maybe be formatted; such as forms ..... http://www.pdfescape.com/

++ FoxitReader is cool too!!!! --> http://www.foxitsoftware.com/

The reason for getting this program is not to use it as a viewer, or even to create them since PDF Creator does an excellent job with that. It's so you can edit PDF files. I actually went back to using Acrobat Reader as my default PDF viewer because Nitro PDF 5.5 did not support thumbnails in Explorer. They claimed to be working on it (I am not sure if it's in 6.0 or not), and I was very disappointed to see that there was no free upgrade from 5.5 to 6.0. So I will be very happy if the free license for 6.0 shows up.

Not that complicated if they have good SCM system in place. As user, we do hope they have decent SCM, don't we?
It may not be a 5 minutes job to add a reference to the "about page" but it should not take a whole production cycle to have a special release for a specific customer.

I use Acrobat Reader for viewing PDF files and CutePDF to create them. I also need something to edit files, join pages from different files etc. I am hoping this will do the trick if the license come through.

You should keep an eye on Frys.com. Every so often they have a deal on this. I've gotten it free after rebate.

Thanks

BocaDogJr said: You should keep an eye on Frys.com. Every so often they have a deal on this. I've gotten it free after rebate. True, but you usually have to pay for shipping, and Avanquest's rebates are very slow. Downloading it free is a much better deal if all you want is to be able to use it.

Format: Software | Date: Jan 2009

Jan 2009 ??? Can you still get the full license now?

Well, I signed up and got on this bandwagon immediately after reading this post. I will post back next week and let you know if it worked for me.

Thanks OP!

I will post back for sure.
I have My Domain with GoDaddy which gives me 200 email addresses so I create one just for items like this. I use my Google Voice number so I can block any unwanted calls and I can burn junk mail. If the license arrives then I can just delete the email address if I want or leave it alone.

"This item is currently unavailable" dead.

They got my info, waited to send registration email, now deal is dead...

Nitro 6.0 has not been out since January, and the .exe file in the zip file is dated October. So clearly this is not as old a deal as some are making it seem. It may be that they were offering it with the older version and updated it recently, or else the date is wrong on the site.

Bruceslog said: Just Be forewarned... BNet will use your registration information for marketing purposes. And you're using them to get free software. Seems like a pretty fair trade to me.

Skipping 22 Messages...

I didn't even have to install it, but I got a serial key. I just clicked the download link and saved the ZIP file.
