How does this compare to the laptops that were offered by WalMart & Amazon over the weekend for $298? Trying to decide if there might be a better deal to be had closer to Black Friday. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Most earlybird BF deals are for lower end laptops(Celerons, like todays bestbuy deal) which are dead slow and are useful for browsing internet. The killer in this deal is the discrete GPU which makes a lot of difference in performance.

The day, week, month after a deal is posted another deal will come along which has better specs for the price. However, for a laptop deal, I'd gamble to say you won't find one near this before BF with 4GB DDR3 memory and a nVIDIA GT 240 GPU for under $600 (if your interested in these specs). The WalMart and Amazon deals were very good for persons in the market for laptops with those specific specs IMHO.
